I'm still having a blast, but I'd much rather focus on the draft itself than any perceived miniscule advantage one drafter may have over another every step of the way. I agree with the sentiment that we should be focused on the players and not worried about squabbling over something small like this. However, since this draft may serve as a template for similar drafts in the future I think it's important to try to iron out the kinks as best as we can . I was also in favor of no blind rounds for the record.

I will only reveal the names of the players chosen when Steve and Mark are done with their picks.

Nothing else.

I'm assuming we will have a wrap-up thread, suggesting tweaks for the next time around but something to keep in mind is Greg has hinted on a couple of occasions he is talking with STATS to get an on-line version of this format.

I'll let you guys convince Greg to have STATS program in blind rounds (though it could be done using a waiver-like mechanism).

While I am here, I am quite pleased to have been proven wrong about the length of the blind round, special thanks to Dan (who better get a free invite to the next run of this format).

But, I am not going to "apologize" for wasting everyone';s time yesterday for suggesting alternate means of doing the blind, something tells me the discussion served as a bit of a kick in the ass to get it done quickly.

Plus, and I actually believe this to be true yesterday, I think we would be a little surprised at how few conflicts there will be, even at the end of the round.

One of the worst played, worst managed games in World Series history. The Rangers should have been in the clubhouse drinking champagne and celebrating a World Series Win.

We can only hope for a great game seven tonight.......and Ranger fans can only hope for a win that will erase the memories of a game they should have won.

[/QUOTE]It WAS a wonderful game, Perry!

The errors and bad Managerial decisions added to the drama.

We couldn't even take a usually easily caught pop up for granted. (Why was Hamilton only on first base in a World Series game?)

My wife asked me why Holland was taken out in the ninth. I replied that Managers are prone to habit and no matter how well Holland was throwing, he feels he has to show confidence in his closer. After the runs were scored against Feliz, she asked about the confidence tomorrow. :D

My favorite part was just a small thing. Albert takes an o-2 pitch for a strike and it is called a ball.

He takes the same pitch and it is called a strike.

It was like the umpire thought, I gave you your superstar ball, I can't give you two of them!

It was a wonderful game.

Human frailties?

Sure.

But, a wonderful game.

I've e-mailed Steve twice three hours apart.

No reply.

I checked and he was on the Boards at this time yesterday. So, I am betting he is awake.

Does anybody have a number for Steve?

If someone can text him, we can get this round concluded.

Todd, I don't believe anyone else and I know I'm not asking for an apology from anyone. There's nothing to apologize about. I just believe the discussions on the blind rounds, both the reasons for having it and the tweaks requested to accomodate all concerns, have become the overriding topic of the draft (check how many pages are devoted to it in the various threads of this draft). For instance, yesterday when I called Shawn to get his 4th round choice, I had to skim through a couple thousand posts on the blind rounds to find who was actually drafted since he last checked the boards. Also you are hardly the only person who's participated in this discussion or offered a suggestion on how to improve the process.

Again, no big deal either way and ironically now I've added two posts to the discussion. Now I have to apologize.

I return you to your regularly scheduled program.... Given that we took Berra at 4.15 I'd say that amounts to a catcher run

Hey Dan,

Curious if there were any duplicate picks in this blind round? Conventional thinking would suggest that they will become fewer and fewer in the blind rounds to follow. This is a fun draft to watch.

At the beginning of the 5th round, I had two hitters well above everyone else. At the conclusion of the 5th round, one of them still remains! I’ll keep the hit parade going and select…

Soriano, A

AVG 0.300 I also like the Soriano pick.. the real question though, is what pitcher did you take in round 5?
