V-Mart. I can understand #45-50. But he's going #35 in some drafts. Yeah, he's the best, but he's not Mike Piazza in his prime (.320-40-110).

Will the NFBC ever offer a league, either auction or satellite, where a player can be removed from the the starting line-up and replaced with a player from the reserve roster, more than once a week?

ok i have a thought on this -- you should get a chance each week on wednesday or thursday only for players who go on the dl that week to replace them with active players

ok i have a thought on this -- you should get a chance each week on wednesday or thursday only for players who go on the dl that week to replace them with active playersThere is a rule that pertains to this...
13. Setting Starting Lineups:NFBC owners are allowed to change their starting lineups five minutes before the first game each Monday and that lineup remains intact for the rest of the week. However, owners are also allowed to remove a player (or players) who is officially on the DL from their starting lineup with one of their players from their reserve roster before each Friday's first game as long as the position eligibility works out. Players must officially be on the DL list according to STATS for this move (or moves) to take effect for the weekend games.

I don't mean the main event, it's to unpopular of an idea for that. But I would think that with 300 plus entrants that enough might be interested in daily or twice weekly moves to start a satellite league.

I didn't know about the "Friday DL" rule change either. See what happens when you have your head in the football sand for too long?
Seriously, I can't believe I missed that one.
Greg, I think I mentioned this to you on the phone once, but it would be an excellent idea for you to highlight rule changes from the previous year (perhaps in a box at the bottom of the 2006 Rules page). There were a number of people who had no idea about the "10% rule" in football, and I would bet the same applies with this rule change for baseball. Food for thought...

I believe there is a thread here from October that listed the rules changes, but I can dig it up again. Yup, the DL rule applies JUST for players in your starting lineup starting on Monday and you can ONLY replace them with players from your reserve squad. You might not be able to use this new rule more than a handful of times each year, but it might ease some of the pain from the news on Monday night that your team just put one of your players on the 15-day DL.

Greg, question about the DL rule. Say my 3B, player A is hurt and goes on the DL on Tuesday. I don't have a player on the bench that can play 3B but I have player B who is on the banch and can play 1B. I have at 1B player C that qualifies at 1B and 3B, can I move him to 3B on Friday, move player B to 1B and bench player A? Thanks.

I don't know the "official" answer but I would think that if one DL player went to your bench and just one bench player went to your active lineup, you should be able to move players around in order to have a valid lineup. The key would be that only Dled players could be replaced.
Assume Arod was your 3B and Wright was at UTIL. Arod goes on the DL on Tuesday. On Friday you should be able to move Wright to 3B and bring up any bench player to assume the UTIL spot in your lineup.

Just a thought, but if allowing player C on the active roster to slide over to 3b, and then replacing player A with a bench player that can cover player C's position, will increase the values of players with multiple posistion eligibility. especially the scarce positions. Chone figgins might just then become a 1st round pick since him being able to slide to almost any position would be HUGE in my opinion?

I, for one, don't care for this rule! Who voted for it? Soon - the only way to stay competitive - would be to have high stakes fantasy ball as your full-time job or one would have to be retired (hey Perry?) to keep up! (refering to constant computor access) Or like Gekko and be independantly whealthy!

Log in friday morn, check your team's roster, active player on the DL ?? yes or no, make the swap.

Your point being talk is cheap- stop whining, the rule has been in place for months. He gave people plenty of time to voice their opinions.

(refering to constant computor access) Or like Gekko and be independantly whealthy! This rule change won't take any extra time to monitor or enact each week. The deadline will be on Thursday night, so nobody has to spend all day Friday doing searches to see if a guy was officially put on the DL or not. Basically, if you see one of your guys go on the DL Tuesday or Wednesday, you'll have 2-3 days to replace him in your starting lineup if you have a reserve that qualifies at his position. Easy enough. Click reserve, click start and your lineup is improved.
