People still can't kick the Tulo habit? He is not a first rounder any more

Not sure Hanley Ramirez drops to the third in many drafts

One other note GREG - obviously can't do much about it this year BUT after we finish drafting, any chance you can get them to change the designation on relievers - ugly to see MR no matter who the pitcher is ... frankly I would rather they all say just P but if the starters have to be SP then ALL relievers should just be RP.

People still can't kick the Tulo habit? He is not a first rounder any more

I don't know about that, while I agree there's big risk on his games played, I think people underrate composite values of Tulo plus the injury replacement you'd have.

Just for example last year, with Tulo April - July and a replacement player from August - September (he actually finished year on July 21st, so you could actually pickup an addition week of replacement stats), you still get a Top 20 hitter and a 2nd round pick. I used an average of Jordy Mercer, Brandon Crawford & Alexi Amarista to give an idea of what the spot would produce and the composite SS you could create still put up this line:

141 games at .313 - 85 - 24 - 73 - 4

Is that a surefire first or second rounder rounder? No, but it also doesn't take into account that Tulo could play more than 91 games this year, with fewer than 50 games from the replacement guys, which would push the composite back up near first round territory, at worst early second round.

And you might also find a replacement SS better than your composite SS who I have taken the liberty to rename Jorandoxi Merfordista.

Yea, part of my reasoning is that there is no guarantee that they are even going to put up elite numbers, because the time they are on the field might be filled with injuries as well. Now does that mean I can quit CarGo this year? Unlikely

I don't know, but it will happen. Trout's heat maps show that he slugged .211 against pitches up in the zone last year, but he continued to murder low stuff. That's why it looks like he's golfing on so many of his home runs swings. The league adjusted to the data by working him with fastballs up more each month of last season and Kansas City simply lived there in the playoffs. A lot of people don't realize he led the majors in strikeouts last season. I expect him to make the proper adjustments, or just keep killing mistakes, and deserve the number one selection, but I could also see someone going another direction.
