) I'll be drinking in Arizona on Sunday at a ballpark and at the LABR drafts. We can't fill by then!!!
I'll keep updating the thread as we get signups this weekend, but let's just shoot for a full house by next week at this time and be happy. It looks like a better late rush than I had anticipated before e-mail died on me for six days. Keep 'em coming and we'll see what this looks like in a few days.

THE NFBC IS SOLD OUT FOR THE MAIN EVENT!!
Okay, we officially sold out in Las Vegas this morning as we received our 150th signup there. Carl Greer signed up way back in November, but then had a business conflict get in the way on Saturday and he had to back out of that event. Well, his schedule cleared this morning and now he can do the Friday-Saturday NFBC doubleheader in Las Vegas. Welcome back Carl and thanks for joining the party!!
There's one possible spot opening here as an owner may have a conflict, so I'll leave Las Vegas open for now as this may play out. Thanks all.

[/QUOTE]Nice try!
You'll suffer like every other city while I'm playing in Arizona.
But honestly, as everyone knows, we've set the KDS deadline for Wednesday at noon and it will take time to run all of the credit cards anyways and finalize all of the draft spots. Even if we sell out this weekend, we'll likely still shoot for Thursday as the day to announce everything if not Friday. Doing it during the business day seems like it could be a lot of fun!!!

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Everyone should be paid up in full by that time and they get the team we draft until they show up. If we happened to have a standby in that city and that person wanted to buy that spot right there, we might move them out depending on the owner in question and if we were talking to them at that time on a cell phone or something. But we're all big boys and girls now and once we process the card it's your job to show up to the draft on time and pick a winning team.
And again, we wait for NO ONE on Draft Day. Get there on time as we have a schedule to keep!!

Doug Moore just called and is taking it. He's been in the $650 NL the last three years and was happy to see one spot open. It will be great to have Doug and Patti back again.

THE NFBC IS SOLD OUT FOR THE MAIN EVENT!!
Okay, I'm sorry I was out of touch yesterday, but my trip to Arizona was successful. The day started at 4 a.m. as I awoke to four more inches of snow and snow covered roads as I drove to the airport. After de-icing in Appleton and a connecting flight East (of course) to Detroit, we found 2-3 inches of snow there and another de-icing and delay. I arrived in Arizona an hour late, but soon enough for John Zaleski to pick me up and get to a Brewers' game in the fourth inning. It was glorious to see sun, green grass and baseball again.
After baseball, Corona's and a steak dinner, I was sleeping waaaaaaay too early.
But it was a good day.
Now onto the signups at hand. We've had some switching and some cancellations and some new signups, so this is a moving target as always. But we're really locking in for each city and this is playing out nicely. I still have some tentative signups that I can't announce yet, but it's safe to say we're almost at 375 and New York will allow us to get to 390. Hang tight and set your KDS preferences by noon CST on Wednesday.
Here's the latest on what we have left as of this morning:
LAS VEGAS:
Main Event: 1 spot (this may be taken)
NL $650 Auction: 1 spot (I have two who want it)
NEW YORK:
Main Event: 11 spots
$650 AL Auction: 8 spots
CHICAGO:
Main Event: 3 spots
$650 Mixed: 5 spots
ORLANDO:
Main Event: 3 spots
$650 Mixed Auction: 3 spots

THE NFBC IS SOLD OUT FOR THE MAIN EVENT!!
Norm Kent switched yesterday from New York in the main event to Orlando, so now we have just three spots left for the main in Orlando. That's awesome. Chicago also has three spots left for the main. It would be great to fill those two cities perfectly. Las Vegas has 149 and another NFBC veteran has already called to secure the last spot. He just has to finalize his schedule. New York has 11 spots left and we added three more signups there yesterday, so I know we can fill this with a good late push.
The only auction leagues to concentrate on are the $650 mixed in orlando and Chicago. Orlando now has 12 owners and Chicago now has 10. We're planning on hosting each city individually and doing all we can to get to 12,13,14 or 15 in each city. We'll do all we can to fill those up, but obviously we can still go with anything 12 or above. I'll see if I can make some phone calls to make that happen.
Thanks all. Keep those signups coming and don't wait too long as my goal is to fill up each city first for the main.

THE NFBC IS SOLD OUT FOR THE MAIN EVENT!!
We're now at 379 guaranteed spots for the Main Event. We're on our way toward being able to finalize everything this week and pick the draft orders no later than Friday. That's the goal but we still need to fill up our remaining spots in New York, Orlando and Chicago to reach it. So who wants those few remaining spots?
