BUT NOT LIRIANO..NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!HE'S A COMPLETE BUST. A SHELL OF HIS FORMER SELF.
ANYONE HAVING HIM CAN KISS THEIR SEASON GOODBYE. MAKES ALL THOSE HOURS OF PREP REALLY FEEL WORTH IT, EH? DUMBASS ME LOOKING AT THE WRONG DATA TO MAKE MY LIRIANO PICK. WITH AS GOOD AS I THING I AM, THIS IS 100% INEXCUSABLE. WITH THE PERFECTIONIST THAT I AM, IT MAKES ME WANT TO QUIT RIGHT NOW. SERIOUSLY.
OH YA...LIRIANO told the coaching staff after his latest start that he had lost the confidence to throw strikes. no confidence and a bum pitcher. great combo.
BYE BYE LIRIANO. Hey GG - As I write this, you are still sitting at #23 overall. You have a very good team and will be at the top all year.
Just recognize that at least 90% of us have no sympathy for your complaining about Liriano. Take me for instance. My main event team BLOWS, and yours is good. We basically have no pitching whatsoever. So, while I certainly like your factual updates on Liriano, I cannot sympathize with one bad pick that you made while you sit near the top of the standings. Almost everybody missed on at least 1 pick, but more likely about 3-4 important picks.
We all make mistakes. Just have some fun and put in all in the right perspective.

it's easy to say people miss on picks, but i don't buy that, at least for me. i was ready to dominate this year and came away with a flat tire before the race even began. when i realized i picked liriano (MY #2 PITCHER), you can't even fathom the fear, anger, frustration that i felt. HUNDREDS (MAYBE EVEN OVER A THOUSAND) HOURS JUST WENT DOWN THE DRAIN ALL BECAUSE I DIDN'T BOTHER MAKING SURE I WAS LOOKING AT THE CORRECT DATA.
as for being #23 overall, that don't mean shitt. give me the guy i woulda took over lirinao (carmona) and i'd be in the top 10 with my eyes set on #1.

I think he succeeded.
And maybe it's b/c you won't quit whining about Liriano. Boo freaking Hoo.
Hey maybe that psychotherapy worked for Cabrera, you should contact the Twins and tell'em yer boy Francisco needs some too.
Perhaps you might wanna look into for yourself as well. I mean w/ the "thousands of hours wasted", that must be pretty tough to handle eh?

I really don't look over the other teams' rosters in my league too often once the season gets going...but after reading this post, I had to take a look at your pitching...
Talk about some tough breaks with Pedro, Corpas, P Hughes, Kuo (this week), and the list goes on. I think Hughes will be okay (hopefully sooner rather than later). I just don't know what to think of Bonderman and his control. I was targeting him too in our draft. I'm sure you were thrilled when he was pulled after 4.2 inn this week...
All I can tell you is this: a little less than 2 wks ago, we were in 14th place. With our 1st, 4th, and 5th rd picks on the DL the last 2 wks, we've moved into 4th in the league and the top 100 overall so things can turn around in a hurry in April and May. I know you know this but sometimes it's good to hear that it happens !
(btw, I don't like our new team name but ever since the switch, we've moved up so the new team name remains)

[/QUOTE]well at least my player won't be in the minor leagues anymore by Tuesday ! (that was the best comeback i could come up with)...yes leg injuries and speed guys aren't a good combination... If I hadn't hit the wrong button on my laptop, I could've had Derrek Lee instead of the Flyin Hawaiian and I'd be in the top 10 right now!

YOU HAVE VICTORINO?? i didn't know that. i was just putting him in the context that i had victorino last year (15th round) and watched him play quite a bit and knew he doesn't have the body type to stay healthy the whole season. with another leg injury, i'm afraid he'll go down as one of the biggest busts this year (along with loserano).
YOU PASSED ON D.LEE FOR VICTORINO?? what round did you take him, 4th?
you may want to go to a new evaluation system next year.

Gordon i wouldnt think Victorino will be a bust this year.He comes off the dl this week and should be ready to go.Gordon are you cutting Liriano this week
or are you still holding out hope for him.

NO CHANCE HE SHOULD BE TAKEN OVER D.LEE. NONE

I agree with Derick Lee before Victorino and the 4th round is a little high, but late in the 5th round you can still get value. If Victorino is ready to go i wouldnt worry about losing at bats.He needs to stay healthy , we will see.

Liriano was pulled after allowing five hits and five walks (one intentional) in his brief stint. It could have been worse, but the bullpen bailed him out of a bases-loaded, one out situation after he left. Liriano clearly has plenty of work to do before returning to the majors.
BYE BYE this week. No more taking up a valuable roster spot anymore. He'll be lucky if he is back by the all-star break. I'll do a write-up about me dropping him this coming Sunday in a few days.

Im with you Gordon, i should have dropped him this week.Roster spots are so valuable and i cut a guy i already want back.Im still in shock with this whole Liriano nightmare.Atleast i didnt spend 26 dollars for him in the auction.I think in a auction league for that kind of money it hurts twice as much as someone taking him in the 8th round.
