Sorry, I took awhile on this selection. I was leaning towards a player that was recently scooped up. When I was forced to rethink my pick, I had a hard time deciding between pitching and hitting. When that was decided and I then decided on the position I wanted to fill, there were a couple different guys at that position that I was looking at. Once I decided on the guy, he had two seasons I struggled over. Now that I've flipped a coin three times, the position I'll be filling here is 2nd base, the year 1990, the player......

Lets keep this thing going. I also am a sucker to this position disappearing quickly. So I am also going with a second basemen that when I agreed to do this draft would have never thought I would have taken.

Noticing that we are moving from the "all time, all time" seasons, to the merely, "great fantasy seasons" at about this stage.

for us on the outside looking in, after every few rounds, a matrix on the positions taken for each team would be interesting. I'm starting to do one for myself but Todd seems to have worked out placing tables in the thread so maybe he or another can post a matrix after the end of each round. Just a thought.

We have two picks to make here. One of them has been decided for a while, but I will have to wait for a response from Dave for the other. It's about time we grabbed a pitcher and so our 6th round selection is.....

Todd, If we are using baseball reference for the stats all of Taylor's numbers that you have there are slightly off. It looks to me like he pitched a 9 inning shutout that was not counted by some sites but was counted by baseball reference.

Lot of different directions we could go at this pick, and we considered a lot of different names at many different positions. Overall, we think that the best player to fit our team needs compared to what's left on the board has us taking our corner infielder.
He may have played his last game in a Cardinals uniform last night, and if so, what a way to go out.

Albert Pujols, 1B, STL 2003
.359 AVG (212/591) / 137 R / 43 HR / 124 RBI / 5 SB

looks like my data feed is missing him for some reason. {no, i didn't use baseball reference}. got to love it when you are playing without all the data

Taylor fixed -- sorry, got lazy multi-tasking and did not check. Fangraphs had other data (obviously). Though he was on my sheet, the added 5 Ks would not have been enough to jump him up my rankings

just checked my stat source (mlb.com). for some reason, they don't have any pitching data for years 1901, 1902 and 1903. anyone know where can i easily find that data. if there is a way i can download stats from baseball reference FOR FREE, can someone PM me and help me out? might have to use my 24 hours up when it gets to me.
GREAT way to begin your weekend.
