Stardust Hotel to face the wrecking ball?!?!

Post by bowlingfool » Wed Dec 28, 2005 11:10 am

Saw a post on lasvegasadvisor.com that the Stardust will probably be torn down in 2006.

Greg, have you gotten any reassurances from Stardust management about their ability to host the draft in March?

here's a link to the post about the Stardust facing the wrecking ball.

(the post is probably only good for today - Dec. 28) Yeah, we know all about this. I was so happy with the meeting room space when I went out there in August to sign this deal that I wanted to re-up for 2007, but they told me it would be imploded before then. Basically, that part of the Strip is now in demand after the Wynn castle went up last year and older properties like the Stardust are going to be torn down to keep up with the Wynn's. It's a shame because those hotels are great and the Stardust sportsbook was the first and still is one of the best in Las Vegas. But the Strip is changing and that end of the Strip is going to go through dramatic changes in the next three years.

We are fine for March and we also have a contract for our NFFC event in September. But it's obvious we'll have to find a new location for the NFBC in 2007.

Have no fear, the place will be intact for the NFBC in March.
