2012 NFBC Signup List

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Dec 01, 2011 9:36 am

We are back for our NINTH NFBC Season and ready to kick it off with our Signup List of all of our live events. This Signup List is the official scorecard of participants for 2012. We provide this as transparency of all of our events so that you can see where the demand lies and so that you know which sharks are swimming in each pool!! :D Ha, no NFBC contest is going to be easy, but it's always nice to see who is teeing it up with you, right? :D

So let's begin. Let's start, however, by congratulating last year's incredible champion, Lindy Hinkelman of Greencreek, Idaho. Lindy made history last year by becoming the first two-time winner of the NFBC's Main Event. He edged KJ Duke for the overall title last year and has now won two of the last three Main Event overall titles. WOW. Lindy is also our Career Money Leader with $360,075. His incredible story was featured in the New York Times and on ESPN's Jim Rome Is Burning in October and now our favorite pig farmer is a CELEBRITY!! :D

Lindy officially becomes our first signup of 2012 as he will defend his title at the Bellagio Las Vegas on Saturday, March 31st. Lindy is also our very first signup for the NFBC XII and he will be returning to the NFBC Auction Championship and the NFBC Ultimate Auction League. Welcome back CHAMP!!!

Okay, so let's begin. It's time to officially kick off our 2012 NFBC Season as Opening Day is officially 125 days away. Can you believe it? Baseball in 125 more days!! To get on this list, just post your intentions here or email me at [email protected] and we'll get you officially on the list. Registration should open shortly and once it does everyone can lock in there teams then. But we're not waiting for that final step as we CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER. Let's begin the 2012 NFBC Season!!! Thanks all.

Here's the list to date, which will be updated everytime a new signup comes here:

Where the heck is everyone Greg ? I thought you were shutting down the old boards - I can't even get back on there. It's like a ghost town here...

The old boards are still active and I'll keep them active until that 1941-2011 All-Time draft is done. That should be by Friday. Then we'll shut down those boards and get these boards alone on one URL. Right now folks are split between the two boards. We also will be sending out an email with the Registration info, new boards, info, etc., to get everyone back on board. No worries. This happens with the transfer of the boards, but at least we did it right by saving our eight years of history with all posts and getting new boards that we can manage again. Controlling spam was key along with many other things. We'll tweak the type and spacing and other things when we can, but for now we're alive and well and it's time to get the signups rolling and Slow Drafts started. That's what we're moving towards today. The crowd will follow the Pied Piper soon. ;)

The old boards are still active here: http://nfbcboards.stats.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

Put me down for the NFBC XII in Vegas. Also, is the Diamond league a 12 team event? And if so do the same rules apply that are used in the NFBC XII?

Thanks
Joe

Hey Greg,
I was supposed to be first for the Mahwah Main Event on Saturday and the following week in NY! What the hell's with that?! Damn that Jupinka always trying to one up me.  Guess NJ is a go!!! So count me in for the Main on Saturday and the NFBC XII as well for on Saturday in Mahwah. Also put me down for the Main and the NFBC XII the following week in NY on Saturday. Think we need to work out getting my Super Invitational on here for Friday night in NJ. Contact me about the final details on this at your convenience. There are eight of us so far :D . Thanks!

I'll do it Joe. I'll put you down for Friday late afternoon, March 30th, but feel free to change date and time if you want. Just let me know. We have them scheduled multiple times in Las Vegas that weekend and maybe you might even want to do TWO!! Thanks man.

The Diamond League is 15 teams. We don't have any 12-team Supers, Ultimates or Diamonds, but if there is demand for those formats as we grow the 12-team concept we'll add them. Thanks.

Mike, this might be your first and only time to be first above Stephen Jupinka, so I'll change the Signup List and make that change!! I'm sure Mr. Jupinka would even understand!! YOU'RE NO. 1, YOU'RE NO. 1!! Welcome aboard and let's make Mahwah work. I'm counting on the East Coast to come through for us there. Thanks. Friday night works if you can fill up that Super League. Tom will handle it. Thanks.

Thanks Greg. The Friday afternoon time slot will work. I'll definitely be doing a second NFBC XII this coming season. Probably the Sunday morning time slot or online. I'll let you know as we get closer.

Actually the second if you are counting when I smoked him in the $1000 last year, but that's okay. :P
