Start of the slow drafts?

Post by BK METS » Wed Dec 14, 2011 11:59 am

I haven't been able to read through all of the posts, but does anyone know when we are starting the slow drafts, specifically the $375 draft? I am going to be very consumed during the holidays, so it would obviously be best if we can start prior to...

If someone knows, please post... Thanks!

According to Greg's last post on the issue, he'll know more by Friday however, he is not in a position to commit to anything more:

As Brian scolded me above, don't say anything more until you know for sure. I'll know more by Friday, but likely not before. Sorry, but we have to get through a legal dilemma first. We won't be starting these Slow Drafts before next week, unfortunately. Sorry, but I think we'll clear this hurdle on Thursday and have a good plan ready to announce right after that. I think Registration can go live soon and that will allow Slow Drafts to begin. Thanks for your patience all. Baseball drafts are almost here and we have plenty of full leagues to kick off as soon as we go live.

I just got home. With any luck we'll get Registration live by the end of tomorrow and contact everyone to get them signed up for these Slow Drafts and officially in the system. It's going to take some communication from us to get everyone signed up once Registration is live. We didn't get that done today as hoped, so hang tight. That's the key for us.

Once we do that we'll need to assign everyone into leagues and get the draft room available for everyone. We are still adding some position eligibilities to minor-leaguers to make sure our draft software position eligibility matches our game rules. But we're close on all of this.

I know we had hoped for an earlier start, but everyone feels confident that we can go live around middle of next week. I know that's just before the holidays, but let's get these rolling and I'll gladly roll back any picks on Christmas Eve or Day that go beyond 8 hours. Even if we have some slow rounds during those days, let's get these leagues rolling and the Slow Draft season started. We had a much longer delay last year and I don't expect anything to stop us once we go live. So take the weekend off and next week at this time all of the Slow Drafts will be started. I feel confident about that.

Thanks for your patience all and let's all plan for next Thursday at the latest. Then it's non-stop for the next 100+ days. Thanks.

Bummer of a birthmark, Hal.

Was hoping we'd be DCing it this week. Had 2 weeks off for shoulder surgery. I go back to work on 22 Dec. Will just to spend my remaining convalescent time reading vintage Doughboy posts. :geek:

Greg,
Since we are all hanging on every minute as to when these slow drafts will kick off, is it possible that you could send us out a notification when they have actually started via this thread so that we can jump in wherever we may be at the time? Thanks.

Yes, we definitely will send out an email to each of the participants before these Slow Drafts go live. Everything is moving forward and we are on schedule to start these before Christmas. I'll definitely post an update this afternoon and make sure everyone is ready to go. All owners are signed up for the full $150 and $375 leagues, so great job everyone. We're not waiting on anyone to sign up. We'll create these leagues and be ready to go once all final testing is complete.

Again, we'll email all of you when we're ready to go. If you need extended time on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, just email me at [email protected]. I can easily roll over another 8 hours if it auto-picks. But otherwise have patience on those two days, let everyone enjoy Christmas and pick when you can. Considering that we're in the early rounds, it might actually be fun on that day to walk over to the computer and pick a superstar!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

We're on track. Stay tuned.
