Time for DOUGHBOY to have his own forum

Post by Quahogs » Thu Dec 15, 2011 9:45 am

Greg,

You've talked about making the NFBC players bigger to the world out there but with no magazine we're relegated to our own little MB corner if we're not able to make it on our own.

Well it's time for one of ours to have his own wing. Doughboys has been at it for YEARS (from the get-go I believe) and is really coming into his own with original, funny, and informative writings.

I say we rename the NFBC Rotisserie Discussion forum The DOUGHBOYS DAILY ( or something similarly corny ;) ) That way we have one place to go (one stop shop) to get our DOUGHism fix at. I mean he's down in the non-baseball chat forum (talking good baseball - shame on you! ) , he's all over. His good stuff gets scrolled too quickly in the top forum too.

I'm sure Dan had no preference where he posts but since he's putting out quality work every day let's make it easy for us and the new players to find his good work.

What do you say Greg ??

I will second this 100%! DOUGHBOY'S writings are one of the reasons I read the boards everyday of the year. He is as original as he is talented and we all learn a ton about both life and the sport we love when enjoying his writings.

You're putting a lot of pressure on Dan to produce daily content, but if he says yes we can easily change the name of any of the Forums. I like it. Just say the word Dan and you'll be our on-site blogger!! ;)

Of course he won't say Greg... I say just change it and see if he comes. He may sniff around a bit before he settles in but I'm sure he'll call it home before long...

It really doesn't have to be daily does it? I honestly can't think of anybody better than Dan for this though!

You guys are too much!
I started writing down in the non-baseball section cuz sometimes I get bored with myself and if I felt that way, I figured you guys must really be bored. I found it a good way to limit the posts on the top subject line and give others some room for their thoughts.
Better to be a poster or blogger than a blahblahblahger, right?

I'm comfortable in the non-baseball section, but I'd write anywhere. I love the NFBC and really like the Boards as the communications tool for the best fantasy baseball players in America.
Thanks for the attaboys. Very much appreciated.

Dough - I can't speak for everybody obviously, but when it comes to your writings, I find it awesome when they are sprinkled into the General NFBC Discussion Boards since MOST of them are baseball related anyways and thats the only place I ever look. I didn't even know you were writing somewhere else until it was mentioned in this thread. You have a topic, comments are made until its not relevant anymore and it goes down the list - No Harm, No Foul!
Please keep up the good work, but please let the class know where we can find your work! :D
Speaking of the Class - Has anybody checked in on the kids at FANTASY CAMP lately? ;)

Truth is that his work is borderline publishable. I do not know what he does (did?) in the outside world, but some of these essays are way beyond fantasy league message boards. Dan you have a real talent, that the NFBC should be utilizing as much as possible....where else can you go to find a mix of homey Americana, baseball, love of family, country and countless other themes? I know that I would much rather read the Stevie Wonder posts then just about any baseball site. Thanks for the efforts, they are greatly appreciated.

I know of a site that would be honored and privileged to co-post Dan's musings. The bad news is they don't pay well, unless payment is accepted in the form of Doritos, the good news is the word "expert" is nowhere to be found anywhere on the site.

Okay, we just created your own Forum Dan!! CONGRATS and thank or blame Jupinka for this!!

It replaces the Rotisserie Forum, which wasn't driving traffic anyway. Feel free to copy and paste some of your old musings in there so that we have a bevy of your writings. I'm sure folks would like to read those again. We'll move this forum up to the fourth spot so that it stays prominent. Thanks again for all you do.

Now, it's time to rev things up. We need a live Registration page soon, some live Slow Drafts and yours truly writing more baseball articles. We're almost past the legal hurdles, so stay tuned. The best is coming up. And Draft Day is about 97 days away. Yikes. time to get busy.
