Slow Draft Settings

Since there are too many threads where the following information may be contained, Greg and/or Tom, would need your input.

1. How long will we have the current 10-hour clock? I understand it will give way to an 8-hour clock at some point.

2. Will there be any downtime or draft restrictions during Christmas and during the New Year week-end? Please elaborate.

3. Will the 10-hour clock, as well as the 8-hour clock when it kicks in, remain continuous throughout our draft? ie no freeze during night hours?

4. Will anything be done about teams who run the clock out repeatedly or for teams who do so when they own consecutive picks? I'd like to get through our draft as quickly as possible, so that I may have an opportunity to register for a few more.

I apologize in advance, if you've had to answer these questions previously.

Thanks.

1. The clock will turn to 8 hours on Tuesday morning.

2. No downtimes for any of these Slow Drafts. The clock will remain at 10 hours throughout the holiday weekend. If anyone times out, just email me at [email protected] and we'll step in and roll back. But we can't give you a player who has already been picked. Hopefully with a 10-hour clock and the fact that we're in the early rounds we can all make that one pick, but I'll help where needed.

3. Yes, it's a continuous clock. The 8 hours is there to allow you a good night's sleep. So sleep 7 1/2 hours, wake up an make a pick!!

4. Nope. This is why they are called Slow Drafts. But we do ask everyone to understand that you don't have to use all 8 hours to make each pick. We agree, we want to do these in a reasonable time so that everyone can do more. On average last year, we got through about 2 rounds per day or 24-25 days per draft. Enjoy the company in the Chat Room, enjoy the drafting and have fun with your league mates. This is like a mini social network of 15 like-minded baseball fans, so enjoy.
