Okay, I'm going to make the first post in the Leagues section of our Message Boards. My nine-year-old girl just picked the reserve round order of the 12-team New York American League Auction League, with Rocky Landsverk holding the official NFBC hat that contained the names. This will be the order that you will be seated at going counterclockwise at the draft table and each owner will announce a player and the value you want the bidding to start. So we may lead with "Alex Rodriguez, $30." At that point, every single owner can holler out a higher number and it will be up to the auctioneer to determine who got the highest bid. Each player will end with a cadence of "Going once...going twice....Sold." Once the "S" is muttered the player is sold to the highest bidder.
Just for clarification, I mis-spoke on the Message Boards earlier this week when I said the reserve round was NOT in serpentine order. IT IS. The rules are correct and we will go 1-12 and back up 12-1 in even rounds. I apologize for the confusion as lack of sleep must have been the cause there. You do not use any of your original $260 budget in the reserve round and can't carry it over to FAAB, so spend all $260 on your 23 players or take the imaginary leftovers home with you.
Okay, now go and check out the New York AL Auction League draft order.
