looks like Shandler tried to execute some sort of LIMA

1 SP among his first 11 picks

Nice job guys posting the picks of last night's draft. It was an interesting draft right from the first pick, but a lot of fun. Kind of chaotic at times with everything going on from the trade show to the announcers, but still fun.

I knew offense would be at a premium as some guys laid off SPs, so I'm light on power at this point. I went young (especially with my SPs) and hoped for upside. I did not have any intention of taking Clayton Kershaw at 23, but took him as the first SP ahead of Halladay. We'll see if that was a smart move or not, but at 23 I just felt he was the best on the board.

Okay, poke away at it. This is a no-trade league and we drafted 29 players. We'll see if this team can compete for a title or not:

C - Wilson Ramos
C- Carlos Ruiz
1B - Miguel Cabrera
2B - Jose Altuve
SS - Erick Aybar
3B - Aramis Ramirez
CI - Freddie Freeman
MI - Emilio Bonifacio
UT - J.D. Martinez
OF - Carl Crawford
OF - Hunter Pence
OF - Alex Gordon
OF - Jeff Francouer
OF - Carlos Quentin

SP - Clayton Kershaw
SP - David Price
SP - Madison Bumgarner
SP - Derek Holland
SP - Vance Worley
P - Drew Storen
P - Huston Street
P - Addison Reed

Reserves:
Alex Presley
Lonnie Chisenhall
Salvador Perez
Nolan Arrendondo
Juan Nicasio
Danny Duffy

Thoughts?

Nolan Arrendondo?

Greg - who is that? If it is Nolen Arenado, 3B, Colorado who you saw in November at the AFL and who WILL have a chance to win the 3B job in spring training then he will be a big power plus for you when he arrives.

Looks like you still have Packer hangover:

Ramos = McCarthy except he calls a better game.
Aramis = Finley - both suck in the clutch
Quentin = Starks - always hurt
Crawford = Grant - both underachieved
Danny Duffy = GB Defense - neither can go 3 and out

Well considering he got Beckett and Luebke in rounds 12 and 13, it looks like he did fine
(he already had James Shields and Jonathan Papelbon on board)

I like the staff Greg. You're right I think you might be a bit short on power. Need a big year from Quentin.
