Just reported on Twitter that Martinez has a torn ACL and is out for the year.

Tough break for him, the Tigers, and anyone that drafted him in these early drafts (myself included). Yikes!

Big slam for all those early drafters and for us March rats, the catcher list just got significantly shorter!

This is a shocker as his value was about to peak considering he was only to DH this year, but was still Eligible at Catcher. Tough break for sure. Catchers are a risk to start with, but nobody could have seen this coming obviously.

This is devastating for the Tigers. The entire lineup takes a hit including Miggy. Time to go get Fielder and let him and Cabrera split time at DH and 1B. It will never happen, but a fan can dream.
