Anyone think Jorge Posada is a Hall of Famer? 5 championships, 17 seasons, Switch hitting Catcher, Great Person. Me thinks Yes and I wouldnt be surprised if one day he manages the Yankees.

At todays press conference it was revealed that Posada and Jeter had Breakfast/Lunch together on every road game of thier careers....17 Years together. Talk about frienship and being teammates... I hope all young athletes learn their story of living life clean, being a great role model, working hard and most of all just being Great people, both Jeter, Posada and I'll add Mo to that whole mix too.

AROD can only dream of such respect!

Great Ball Player and by all accounts a better person! Great Yankee Catcher and to me has been the Yankee "1a" Captain, behind Jeter.
Hall of Famer - No. Just my opinion, but I just don't see it happening.

He gets a lot of points for staying healthy as a catcher. He also has a few numbers that can be compared with Hall of Famers.
But, being on a good team, and a switch-hitter, and especially being a good guy gets one little in the way of Hall of Fame votes.
If it came down to personalities, Ron Santo would have been a first ballot Hall of Famer. Instead, writers make the aggregious error of waiting till his passing and leaving it to a Veterans Committee to finally do the right thing.

In the end, I think Posada joins Bernie Williams and Andy Pettitte on the sidelines, as they watch Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera inducted into the Hall of Fame later.
