anyone that reads this and is on the fence about jumping in, sign up and you won't regret it.

We need to get this 12-team Main Event going. Greg and Tom are taking the 12-team format to a whole new level.

Paul:

You aren't on this island alone. This is a great concept and many people will find if
they try this format it may become a favorite. Some selling points:

1- Twelve team league come with the instant benefit of having to beat three
less people in each league.

2- In each 15 team league, 450 players are taken. In contrast, only 360 players
are drafted in the twelve team format.. This lends to an additional 90 MLB caliber players available
to each owner via FAAB.

3- Because only 360 players are drafted, the quality of the player you end up rooting
for is at a higher level. This should be especially appealing to a NEW player. Better players to
watch and root for should help hold the interest longer into the season

4- "The Lindy" comes with an NFBC bonus that if you are playing a Main Event team
and you have the season of a lifetime and manage to win both formats you can pick
up the insane amount of $75,000. OK....realistically, this is a mathematical nightmare......BUT it
has ALREADY been done by Lindy Hinkelman. For you horse players - Having a shot at this bonus
is like playing into a Pick Six pool. You are playing for MONEY that you have not had to pay into
the pool to win. The NFBC is paying the premium and farming out the risk to an insurance company. If
you are playing a Main Event team - this should be a no brainer.

5- The first year of the NFBC offered the best chance to win the $100,000
grand prize. I think that the field may have been about 199. Obviously, this has grown to the
390 figure. Greg needs 240 at minimum in this new format with designs on 300. While I'd like
him to have this format take off - any final figure less than 300 offers us the player a great shot
at a grand prize. Right now, they are at maybe 120 plus. Provided that the top prize is guaranteed,
this may the BEST chance you can have as a player to take a swing at a TOP money prize!

6- While drafting this format LIVE is the intended goal - keep in mind that you have
the Online option available to help expand your choices. Let's make this format an NFBC staple!

I can't agree more; this should be a no brainer for anyone playing in the Main Event. If it is about the price tag, grab a partner but try to join this format.
There is nothing better than drafting LIVE but there are plenty of online opportunities. If you're not in the Main Event, this is a great opportunity to try a high stakes game and a chance at 50K, not to mention the 4K 1st place and 2K 2nd. Pretty sweet.

I know there have been about 12 full 15 team leagues in the $375 slow draft, we are talking about $625 more for this format.
Echoing what Sack said, I hope this takes off but what a chance to have smaller odds of winning the grand prize (I don't want that to happen) but seize this opportunity.

Lets get these leagues, LIVE and ONLINE filled; jump in guys, the water is beautiful!!

In other words, you won't be starting Nick Punto in any of these 12-team leagues :D

Tom,

Is it practical to enter these back to back with 3 hours for each draft. Will the second times be held up if the first drafts are not complete?

Joe, if you're referring to Vegas Friday on the second weekend I think the best bet would be to go at 10 am and 4 pm. That will leave you more than enough time between drafts. You could end up being rushed to fit in both if you went at 10 am and 1 pm. It also wouldn't be fair to those who signed up at 1 pm to make them wait to start their draft.

No problem Tom, I was just wondering what the expectation was. I would never ask that things be held up. I'm going to have a partner in one of the events, If I decided to go back to back I'd simply excuse myself from one to start the other.

You may want to check to see if you have others looking to go back to back and what their expectation might be. Depending how the signups go, I may forego a $1,000 sattellite to help support the NFBC XII

Joe:

If things broke correctly, you could go from the 10am - 1pm - 4pm without much of
an issue according to past experience. Provided, like you stated, you have a person you trust
finish out the last rounds while you start the next.

My son and I considered this option, but the "burnout" factor had us considering 10am & 4pm
similar to what Tom suggested. We settled on just the 4pm for right now because the Auction
at 9am is the only time frame for us to participate in that format. I keep staring at that 10am
option, but with Online options I'm trying hard to hold out. I really want this NFBC XII to fly. I'm
hoping it gets a boost when the Main sells out and the Slow Draft options are put to bed.

The 12 team format is by far my favorite event.

Thanks Ken, I'm only doing (as of now) 12 team formats. I agree on the burnout factor. I'm currently signed up for the 10 & 4. I usually like to do an online one while I'm in Vegas. It allows the guys that came along that aren't participating to feel a part of it. I'm trying to get them to split a team of their own. On top of that this crew has to manage alcohol consumption, very difficult over a 9 hour period.

The group I run with drinking and drafting go together like Beer and Pizza :D

I'm looking forward to seeing you and Chip in Vegas.

Greg, Tom, is there a clearer picture yet on how the NFBC plans to move forward with this contest? I still have options on how to finalize my personal plans regarding the XII or potential alternatives, however time is starting to run short for making those final decisions.

I'm still considering taking a 2nd team, but I'd like to know the final parameters for what I'd be entering.

I think we're going to fill a lot of online NFBC XII's that final week and I like the way things are shaping up. I don't see a reason to doubt our plan at this point as we are building a strong 12-Team Main Event that has legs for years and years to come. It's also spurring much more interest in the 12-Team Satellite leagues we're offering for the first time this year. So honestly, I'm not planning any changes at this point unless quickly told otherwise. Jump in and check out the solid ROI in the NFBC XII.

OK Greg, that's good enough for me. I'll look over the dates and take another XII. The 12th and final league I'll be registering for in '12 will be an NFBC XII. There's a certain poetry in that.

Thanks Greg. I'm really looking forward to the drafts in 3-4 weeks and the XII will be a big part of my portfolio of leagues and the fun that goes along with them this year.
