Another DO NOT DRAFT guy.
Chris Carpenter is scheduled to undergo surgery Thursday to remove a bone spur from his elbow. The procedure will be preformed by Dr. James Andrews and will likely sideline Carpenter for a couple of months.

You trying to sneak him by for a buck? I'll say 2
He will be the equivalent of stashing a top pitching prospect but one with a higher chance of success when he pitches. Heck I may go 3.

Off topic, but can somebody tell me if J. Montero will qualify at C from the get go or will he have to get 10 gms this season? Also, if he doesn't qualify at C, why not? Montero was only a sept callup last year and only played in 17 games total. Wouldn't he still have his eligibility from his minor league games? And in NFBC software he is listed as a Catcher...why would they do that if he isn't eligible there?

UTIL only to start season. This has been covered before on the boards. He needs 10 games to qualify this season. He was DH more than Catcher last year. I believe that was the rationale. The draft positions are not always 100 pct accurate in the software. (known issue)

Ok thanks. I find it strange that a Sept call up would dictate his position as he only played in 17 total games. (3 at C/14 at dh) But it is what it is. Thanks.
