New Flexible Lineup Submission Guidelines For 2012

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Apr 04, 2012 9:19 am

We are updating the rules now for all of our 2012 NFBC contests to allow all of you more flexbility on Mondays and Fridays when you are setting your Starting Lineups. We now are allowing you to lock in your starters 5 minutes before the scheduled start of each players' first game on Mondays (or 11:30 pm ET if they don't play on Monday) and the same format on Fridays. This will allow all of you more time to make your starting lineup decisions.

Here's the exact wording of the rule:

11. Lineup Submission

The weekly deadline for setting your NFBC starting lineup is on Mondays. New to the NFBC this year is a flexible starting lineup deadline each Monday. You now are allowed to lock in your starters on Monday 5 minutes before their scheduled games that day. So if you have East Coast teams starting at 7 pm ET, you have to lock them into your starting lineup by 6:55 pm ET. If you also have West Coast players who don’t play until 10 pm ET, you then have until 9:55 pm ET to lock those starters in. If your players don’t have a game on Monday, you have until 11:30 pm ET to lock them in for the week. On Fridays, the same flexible Set Lineup procedure is in place where you can lock in your starters 5 minutes before their scheduled starting time for that day.

Once again in 2012, NFBC team owners are allowed to switch out any hitter (or hitters) from their starting lineup and replace him with a hitter from their reserve roster on Fridays. The deadline for doing that is 5 minutes before the start of that player’s game on Friday. Pitchers will not be allowed to be moved out of your starting lineup at any time during the season; what is set on Monday remains for the remainder of the week for all pitchers.

I hope this helps everyone and good luck in 2012. We will continue to enhance the software to give you the best game in the industry.

Love the extra flexibility. Of course, with that benefit comes the need to be at "DEFCON 4" from 7pm to 11:30pm every Monday and Friday.

It was nice to take a deep breath at 7pm every Monday -- now it'll just have to wait another 4.5 hours. 8-)

Also, I'm assuming these new deadlines refer to the SCHEDULED start times of games. In the event of rain-delays or cancellations, the scheduled start times still apply.

Just enjoy the games on Monday night and be on call if you hear any late breaking injury news!! ;)

SCHEDULED is the key. Definitely it's set to their SCHEDULED START TIME!!

I like the flexibility of the new rule a lot. I just have to buy No Doz for Monday nights.

The "what's this" note on the Set Lineup page should be changed to match the new rules....
