The End Of An INCREDIBLE NFBC Draft Season

The last three of our 72 NFBC Online Championship drafts just went off minutes ago, signaling the end of our live & online drafts. As much as it's been tough for us to manage 250+ drafts this year, I'm almost sad to see the drafting season end. We've been doing this now since late November -- heck, October if you count the two Dan Kenyon email leagues -- and it will seem odd not to jump into the draft room each night.
But I must admit, I'm ready for some sleep and I know Tom is too. Tom personally watched every single one of these online drafts and did yeoman's work this season. Just an amazing, amazing job of personal touch in all of these online drafts by Tom and I hope everyone recognizes that.
But even more importantly, here's some incredible stats about you folks:
** Among our 72 Online Championship leagues, we never once had to delay the start to find a late owner. We never had to chase payments and replace an owner at the last minute due to financial problems or personal problems. Everyone showed up as promised and was ready to draft.
** In fact, among all of our Satellite Leagues Tom said he never had to delay the start of a draft or replace a delinquent owner. It's just an amazing fact because I remember the early years when it seemed every draft had one late owner and we replaced folks at the last minute more than I'd like to admit.
What I'm saying is THANK YOU to the owners of the NFBC for being so diligent, courteous and responsible. We've all come a long way in the last 9 years, but this part of the business is not only growing but it's becoming more and more manageable because of our great players being on time and because of the technology we use for processing payments, the draft software, and everything else. There are definitely things we can do to improve the system, but all of us together are making this much more enjoyable than in the early years of NFBC online drafts. GOOD JOB ALL.
We will finish these last 3 Online Championship drafts before the first pitch of tonight's opener and get everyone's starting lineups set. Box scores will begin tonight, standings will run tonight, leaders will be at the top of the standings tonight. THE FUN BEGINS TONIGHT!!!!
