...I know it's "extremely" early (ya think? LOL), but glad I "only" have him in one league...I tried to get him in more!!
Lohse could be on track for 32 wins!

Johnson could not punch anyone out. He would get ahead in the count with the fastball and the slider couldn't close the deal.
I am sorry if this is offensive to any Miami natives or Marlins fans, but the most painful part of the evening was seeing the new stadium. Millions of dollars and high paid consultants and what did you get? A new stadium in Little Havana color coordinated in South Beach. All that was needed was some signs that said "Three T-Shirts for $10" and vendors hawking back scratchers made from baby alligator claws and all the class and distinction of an off-interstate souvenir stand is complete.
Neon lime green and that center field "sculpture"...TACKY, TACKY, TACKY!!!

It looked like that game was coming from an Olympic venue.
A place where they think they know what a baseball game should look like and misses the mark.
Hopefully, it looks better 'live' than on tv....

Dough, I was listening to MLB on XM on my run after the game last night and fans were calling in with their own Park Reports. Many of them said that it is absolutely beautiful and surely has a Latin Flavor and fun to it! I think the field looked pretty good on TV and it was nice to see more than the standard 500 people there for the Marlins!
Its also always fun to see how a stadium plays for hitters and pitchers, though I heard that this place is an absolute launching pad when the roof is closed. Should be fun in Miami.

I don't know about the launching pad part, Max.
Stanton said he was sure the ball he hit would be a home run.
The ball didn't even get to the fence.
Citi South?

I thought the stadium looked cool, loved the lime green HR wall. Looked like a Cuban baseball stadium, perfect fit for Miami. For HRs, it's gonna take a monster shot to clear 418 in CF. Reyes and Bonifacio could be triple machines.

I did like the glass wall in back of the outfield with the view.
A little lime green goes a long way....too much for my tastes.

I’m sure owners taking Stanton expected somewhere around 35-40hr. HRAM owners probably around 20-25. I wonder if a better target would be 30-35 for Stanton and 15-20 for HRAM? If someone owned both of them, that could be a 20hr swing.

I'd view 30-35 as optimistic for Stanton given his injury frequency.

Stanton crushed that ball and it died 15 feet short of the CF wall. Just literally died.
And the bad news here was the roof and windows were open. They say the ball carries even less when they are closed.

I was at the game, stadium is very nice (it is brand new after all) but i still like Pac Bell the best.
The outfield window was open, and it appeared the wind was blowing in from left or center left.

I was just repeating what I heard the guys on XM say about how batting practice and stuff went in the stadium Dough.
I think it will play a bit different down there once it heats up a bit and they close the roof, but time will tell. I also thought the Twins new Park would be a launching pad, so please look else where for accurate reporting and info
