Hold your breath Ellsbury owners.
He went off the field cradling his arm.

I wouldn't hold my breath. That's dangerous.
That did not look good. May have been a dislocated shoulder something like that. I think it will be a while before you see him again.

They are saying it's a right shoulder injury now. Not good for my Online Championship team. Thank goodness I didn't draft him in the NFBC XII game...

On behalf of all of us who have him, we are all so very happy for you.

Mighty, I didn't mean to put it that way. The reason I wrote that I'm lucky I didn't draft him was because I had the number 4 pick, and I was seriously considering drafting him for my NFBC XII draft but I thought 4 was a little too high for him. After viewing his play the first week and a half of the regular season I was glad I didn't draft him and went with Tulo instead. Now, I am just grateful I didn't draft him, however, I do feel your pain as he is on my Online Championship Contest team...

I'm not afraid to say Ellsbury was one of my primary targets in the NYC1300. I just hope he's no out too long. It definitely did not look good when he came off the field today.

Dislocation or partial dislocation of the right shoulder is what is coming out of "industry sources".

Hell, if that's all it is, just "pop" it back in and "LETS PLAY 2".

Beat reporter says out 6 weeks minimum. Ellsbury isn't exactly known as a quick healer.

Will admit have to smile because the sarcasm is just so good here.
I know chiscottiebaseball was just putting an innocent positive spin on it for his teams... hey at least he doesn't own ellsbury on his "important" team. I'm sure I've made a similar type of comment before.

Or, it is an unfounded and unfair perception that he isn't exactly known as a quick healer.

He will be out 3 months minimum. There may be more damage than first thought. as they always say, there are usually half of the top 12-15 that don't produce as 1st rounders/top level production. I Wonder who is next? Albert? Hanley? Cargo? Reyes? Tulo? Braun? all those mentioned except Albert are injuries waiting to happen all the time...
Shoulder Subluxation - In addition to immobilization, appropriate strengthening exercises are recommended after removal of the immobilization. Resumption of athletic activities can be taken up on an individual basis, but 6-8 weeks after injury is minimum and 3 months is probably a safer time course.
Red Sox are toast this year- Have fun Booby V!

If so there are a lot of folks on that Redsox inside who have come to that unfair and unfounded position.

Is there an AA group for the 50 guys in 50 leagues who made Ellsbury a first round pick?
Well, the pool at the Bellagio was very nice.....
Can someone tell me how the insurance works?

Teams that drafted Ellsbury are by no means toast. I drafted him in the Main and believe even without him I will be a top 3 team. Hell, last year I had Hanley (useless Ramirez) and still managed a 13th overall finish.
So all is not lost if your team is well balanced and has a little depth. Jordan Schaefer has officially become a full time player on my team and will just need a few others to hit a few more HRs than originally projected.
All teams have injuries. I just pray this is my only major one... more than one to a top5 player on your team can be crippling. But just one can be overcome. Think positive Ellsbury owners
