Why draft a backup, he said in ST his elbow felt great!RoundTrippers wrote:i hope all those wilson owners backed em up!
Romo had an elbow issue as well last season and into ST. He was 10 rds cheaper, but I felt he was an equal or bigger injury risk so I wasn't anxious to grab him as a backup. SF has a lot of good pen arms, he wasn't/isn't a shoe-in to close. They have 3 guys that have been used in that role.Motorboat Jones wrote:Drafted Romo in 3/4 leagues anticipating Wilson getting hurt...avoided Wilson like the plague...at least I made one good decision...
I suppose Casilla, Affeldt, and Hembree are all possibilities. It will be interesting to see if there's a save opportunity today or tomorrow and would probably save a few FAAB dollars for a few bidders.swampass wrote:we didnt get a chance to back him up with romo. any chance it could be someone else? feels like it should be romo, but should be is often not always what will be.
I do realize that, but felt Romo had value either way, and is a good bet to close now...we'll see how it all works out.KJ Duke wrote:Romo had an elbow issue as well last season and into ST. Looks like another messy situation like TB and BOS. Romo's by far the best pitcher in that pen. If they go committee, it'll only be a matter of time before he seizes the job. Honestly, the only possibility I see of Romo not ending up with the role is if they Clippard him, which is certainly a possibility.Outlaw wrote:no given Romo gets the job! closer by committee in SF for the forseable future.
Seizing job or seeing Dr Andrews, which comes first?Glenneration X wrote:Romo's by far the best pitcher in that pen. If they go committee, it'll only be a matter of time before he seizes the job.
