3 lefties in a row due up. Smart managing when they still have Romo available as well.

agreed. casilla should get majority of opps, but maybe 20% gets filtered to lopez. stinks for fantasy managers, but good for the giants.

I guess that is why I am enjoying a Cocktail and not managing.

Lopez will face your random lefty or 3, but I think Romo gets his share of ops as well. Josh Thole just bucked the lefty theory.

Could Clay Hensley now be in the "closer-by-committee" mix in SF :?: :?: Bochy yanks his nominal closer Casilla after a "booming" leadoff infield hit  and plays the lefy matchups by bringing in Lopez who promptly blows the save and almost the game :o.Romo bails out Lopez to send the game to extra innings but puts the first two batters on in bottom of the tenth. Hensley gets Ike Davis to ground out to 2B,whiffs Bay and Duda flies out to CF to end the game! Time to jump on the Clay Hensley Express! Get those FAAB dollars ready!!

Yeah that's the reason, but he needed to get all three outs and didnt come close. Was wild and all over... What it shows is not much faith in Casilla and Bochy will play the matchups every time going forward. Like He said over a week ago, closer by committe or is it matchup. There is no firm commitment to any of them and probaly will not be. Most established closers who start the 9th clean, are not yanked after a cheap IF hit... Casilla looked dumb founded sitting on the bench watching Lopez Melt down.

Closing is all about opportunity but it is also about confidence!!! You MUST have some confidence in your closer, whoever that may be. You don't see Mo Rivera or Papelbon getting yanked after a leadoff infield hit. Bochy got away with one tonight but he will regret this type of move in the long run.Casilla will be looking over his shoulder everytime a runner gets on!

Actually I don't see this as a negative for Casilla really at all - this was a manager move that actually didn't work - so maybe next time he leaves casilla in there.

Very true. That could happen. But it appears Romo might get some chances as well.. and if runners are on with a few left hand hitters coming up, Lopez will get a shot. I really don't think the position is defined. Plus, and most importantly, it appears Romo is giving the best Brian Wilson impression with his growing mega-beard.

Anyone else think Romo doesn't look quite right either?

Romo has had elbow issues all spring... they're limiting his innings. He won't get many saves, if any. I was dumbfounded by all the people wasting FAAB on him when it was clear (I thought at least) that Casilla would be the primary closer
