as far as i know(which is proving to be less and less every waking second  ), baseball is a game of rhythm, skill, confidence and a bit of good luck.

rhythm and seeing the ball well are essential to batting right??

2 guys who combined to go 8-10, 3 homeruns and 7 rbi's EACH, are not playing today. simply fuccchhhhiiinnn amazing! this game is changing right before our eyes!

the days of playing 162 are gone my friends! i see a stud, healthy and fortunate player playing 145, this game is starting to suck!

for the record, i do not have ruiz or beltran anywhere

Day game after a night game. One is a catcher and one has a history of injury's. These are planned days off that are an effort to get each of them to 140+ games.

Managers seem to be on auto-pilot.
Automatically resting a catcher day after night.
It used to be the importance of a series overrode a player 'getting rest'.
Now 'rest' is prevalent.
Things have changed...

Here is Scott Rolen's 'work' week so far....
Monday- Off day
Tuesday- rain out
Wednesday- play
Thursday- rest

Willie Mays:
Mr. Leo, why aren't I in the lineup today?

Leo Durocher:
I'm gonna give you a blow today, Kid.

Willie Mays:
I don't need a rest Mr. Leo!
I play baseball, I don't work baseball!

Leo Durocher:
You're hitting third....
