Pujols biggest bust ever??

Post by Steel Lugnuts » Fri May 04, 2012 9:13 pm

Whether it be fantasy baseball or regular baseball, this clown is on pace to blow away the horrible year Dunn had last year.

Sit the MF'er down for a couple days, can't hurt...oh, and looking at first pitch strike one, then swinging at the next pitch out of the zone for strike two is not a recipe for success, how did he become stupid at baseball in such a short period of time?

.198 0 HR 5 RBI

This is not even funny now. I want to puke every time I think about taking him over Kemp!

Maybe they should give him a lifetime ban for impersonating a baseball player. :o This has been a very strange start to the 2012 season; Derek Jeter possible MVP, Pujols imitating Mario Mendoza (wait, maybe he is Mario Mendoza), Closers falling faster than my Main Event team (too late, I'am close to 420) and it is only May 5th. One can only imagine what the next 5 months has in store for us.

Maybe I'm crazy, but Pujols is the least of my worries. I'm absolutely positive he turns it around.

Woo Hoo...I wonder if there will be any takers in my league for him now!

He's currently on my bench for next week, now I may have to start him.

Puojls hasn't done anything to change my mind, what a joke he is. I wonder if anyone has told him to stop looking at strike one down the middle!!! Whenever I'm following his at bat on sportsline, I see 0-1 after the first pitch, is he this clueless?

No doubt he is struggling. Pitchers so far this year, don't fear him and look at him as a potential out now. Plus that lineup has a lot of underperformers so far, Aybar not getting on, Morales offering no protection, for that matter, no one is. Now Morales has a sore Achilles (his whole foot is a medical disaster). Then there is the switching leagues and he is not famaliar with AL pitchers.

A question I have, is how long do Albert owners think it will be before he starts producing again? Does anyone else have any
explanations, we are now in week 7.

I think there is a strong chance he was on enhancements. Looks smaller now. No reason for them after getting that contract that will pay him until he is 55 or so.

Since you mentioned it, I thought the same thing a few weeks ago and the rumors have always been out there. If Bat speed was a Stat, his would be down.

Anyone still rolling with this fu*k? I may have to put in Alonzo or Trumbo, although it's probably too late!

Can you sue an ex-juiced up ball player for making your fantasy team lose?? :x

He hasn't looked right to me since watching him week 1 and it's his swing, as he has changed it. I'm no baseball expert, but I have seen many times, probably the most recent being David Ortiz, that it takes a split second difference to make you look like a superstar and a bum. Add to the fact that he is feeling the pressure of the world on his shoulders with that contract and the slow start of the Angels, and a Pujols we have never seen has appeared.

I know it only was spring training, but it still takes power and a good swing to hit the HR's he was hitting then, so I don't think he stopped taking enhancements the day the season started. Right now, he is out of my lineup for Mon-Thur and I'll see if I have the convinction to keep him on my bench in for this 4 game stretch (BInge most likely).

To answer the previous question, he doesn't get back to the Pujols of old until he gets back to the Pujols swing of old. Who knows when they will be.

Changing leagues and learning new pitchers, missing his family and adjusting to new teammates. He might be getting millions but his whole support system disappeared. Family, Friends and Teammates. He'll rebound in time. Next years steal of the draft!

Surprised. when I saw that Walla Walla posted last in the Pujols thread I was
Certain he was going find a way to blame the NFBC or Stats for Albert's failure!

Sorry John, it was probably all Fanball's fault! ;)

This guy is abysmal, the numbers never lie. He will be hard pressed to end up in the top 10 1B and top 100 overall this year. He is so far below the norm, it is becoming almost mathmatically impossible for him to have a decent season.

ab r h hr rbi bb k Avg: 197
142 10 28 1 12 7 12 Current
657 46 130 5 56 32 56 Pace

What i think he ends up with

640 65 150 18 85 45 60 Avg .235

Ken, Sorry for going soft. I'll probably be losing my job in Walla Walla and have to move on. Idaho is right next store.
Maybe I'll move there and raise hogs. 160 miles or so to the magic pig farm from here. :D

OK, "biggest bust ever" through the first 6-weeks! :)

My roto league still has time to recover but my h2h league is pretty much toast...

I couldn't trade Pujols in my h2h league and almost benched him this week, good thing I gave him "one" more week!

What makes taking Albert with the first pick a little easier to stomach? Taking Carlos Ruiz 18th.
