Chris Sale - Closer??

Post by Steel Lugnuts » Tue May 08, 2012 8:41 pm

White Sox Manager Robin Ventura made sure to be very discrete with who his closer would be to start the season (not sure why)...now Sale is supposedley the closer starting this week, and pitches in the 8th inning this evening??? This is shaping up to be a bad situation for closers under Ventura, think I'll avoid at all cost come next year.

Sale is being sent for an MRI on his ailing elbow on Thursday. Hold your breath until the results are posted. :o

Now he's going to start this weekend? They don't seem to BS to much, they change like the wind, but they let you know which way it's blowing. It will be interesting to see how the elbow holds up.

"Addison's done well, so you probably look for him if they have a bunch of righties coming up," Ventura said. "You probably look for Matty if they have a bunch of lefties coming up. If it's a mix, we'll probably have Hector."

This guy is a riot

So let me get this right. Ventura yanks Santiago from the closer role ( despite the fact that he had no business being named closer in the first place) and then he names Sale as the closer to preserve his ailing arm and now he wants to go with a committee of Reed, Thornton and the deposed Santiago  . WTF is going on in Ventura's mind  !

When Nolan Ryan pummled him years ago, it caused a few screws to come lose.

Looks like Sale is headed back to being a closer (or middle relief)...43 pitches and 3 runs in the first inning, looks like Sale and his dumbass agent should just shut the hell up and let the White Sox decide how best to use him!

OK, so I need a closer with Rivera out! :)
