From Closer Mayhem to Closer Heaven

In a season that's become synonymous with closer injuries, closer demotions, and especially closer fails, tonight saw 10 of its first 12 completed games end with save opportunities. Not only did not one of the closers leave the game with a season ending injury, but each of the 10 converted their saves. Not only was not one save blown, but not one run was allowed.

The combined stats of the 10:

10 innings
3 hits
2 walk
0 runs
0 earned runs
11 strikeouts
and most importantly....10 SAVES.

I don't even have Casilla on any teams, but was rooting for the conversion to keep the streak going.
Nicely done Gentlemen. Now please just keep it up!! ;)

Nice observation. Unfortunately a lot of wasted mid-round draft picks and a lot of wasted FAAB dollars lay in the wake of tonight's closer tranquility.

Casilla has become my favorite player. Two innings last night for the win and is right back tonight for the save. I got my money's worth if he goes down tomorrow. Looks like he might just roll for awhile though.

Thank you Rafael Dolis for bringing back to this year's harsh reality.
