Now For The Fun Part: GETTING PAID!!

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Oct 04, 2012 10:08 am

Okay, as we identify all of the money winners on the Message Boards, we are also compiling all of the winners for the Accounting Department. We will have the payout spreadsheet completed shortly, we will double-check everything and then we will get started on the payment process.

Here's where you can help: All payments are going to be mailed to the address on the W9s we have on file. If you want to make sure the correct address is on file, just click on any of your team links, go to SETTINGS and pull down to Online W9. There you can edit your contact info and save it. Please do that this week!!

If you haven't won money from us in the last year either in baseball or football, then please fill out that W9 and save it. We can't pay you until we have a W9 on file. If you want to split winnings with a co-manager, please contact Tom Kessenich at [email protected] immediately. He will get you a Split Winnings form to you shortly and get that set up before the checks go out.

We do intend to pay quickly once again this season, but all of this takes time to match the prizes with the winners, get all addresses for all owners lined up and W9s in place. We'll let you know as soon as checks go out, but we'll give everyone this next week to get your W9s corrected and completed. Thanks all and CONGRATS to all of this year's prize winners.

NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!!! :D :D :D

We have finalized all of the prize winners and prize totals, matched everything up and will produce checks this week. We are sending checks to the mailing address on your W9s on file TODAY, so if you didn't update your new address it's going out to the one on file. We told everyone to update your W9 information by Friday of last week.

Also, if you haven't filled out your W9 yet, do so ASAP. We can't send out any winning checks if your W9 isn't on file. Take care of that NOW!!

Finally, shared prize forms had to be completed last week. Tom worked with all of you who requested them last week to get forms in by Friday. We aren't splitting prizes if you didn't fill out that form last week. Prizes are going to the principle owner as of today. Congrats all.

We'll update this thread when checks have gone out so that everyone can love their mailman at some point. That time is nearing. And if we do get checks out just two weeks after the completion of the NFBC season, it will be the quickest we've ever sent out NFBC checks. Enjoy and know that we're working hard on the prizes now. CONGRATS ALL!!!

If my teammate filled out his W-9 as the primary owner, should i fill out a W-9. We just decided to split money when we get check. So I havent filled out my online W-9. Great job paying everyone so fast!

I don't know for sure, but I would think it is just one check. Accounting has every event and is processing everything at once, so I would think they are totalling them all up. Enjoy all your winnings, whether it's one check or more.

Nope, then you're fine. He gets all the money, pays all the taxes and splits your share with you.

Just a heads up that we are finalizing our contests for 2013 now and getting all of the rules finalized. We have made some minor tweaks on entry fees, prizes and draft dates, but we want to get prize payments out first before announcing anything for 2013. It's not fair to get everyone ramped up on the next season before this season's prizes are paid.

We are on pace with all prize payments going out quicker than ever before and if we reach our goals this week then we'll announce much of 2013 next week. We are EXTREMELY excited about 2013 and look forward to the season ahead. It will be a cramped schedule in March thanks to Opening Day now being on March 31st and with Easter also being on that Sunday, but we'll figure out a way to get everything in. We have to get it done and we will.

Look for an update soon on the prize payments and then be ready to discuss 2013 next week. I think we can finalize everything next week and maybe even start up a Signup List to get the ball rolling. We won't have Registration officially ready until mid-November, but that won't stop us from creating a Signup List earlier than that. Thanks everyone.

We are still planning for one major live event in Las Vegas on March 21-24 and as of now it does sound like space will be limited at our Las Vegas venue, so if you are coming that weekend to draft make your plans ahead of time and secure your spots early. I'm doing all I can to get as much space as possible for that weekend, but we're not the only convention seeking space then. We'll try to get in as many Main Event leagues as possible on Saturday, March 23rd, but I know already that we'll be limited on how many we can host at one time. Plan ahead and join us for what should be a very fun and very memorable 10th anniversary kickoff event. CAN'T WAIT!!

Also, I reached out to Henry at Fantasy Sports Insurance and we will post the list of players who missed 60+ games and were part of the insurance program. There are at least a handful of players who qualified this year. He is working with his company to get those checks out in the next few weeks as well. All is moving forward there as well. Thanks all and remember that it pays to pay by check in the NFBC.

Insurance payments are 20% of your entry fee. So a $1,400 Main Event is reimbursed for $280.

All year long I'd look at my hitting in the standings and say, "Thanks Tulo!"
Now, when I receive the check, I'll say the same only without the sarcastic tone.
Thanks for doing this, Greg.
It's a Win/Win for everybody.

I'm happy to report that we were able to process all of the winning checks on Friday and some were mailed out on Friday. Look for your payments this week. The biggest checks need one final approval step and will go out early this week. All is good and we can start talking about 2013 this one once we know all of you have been paid. We're well on the way to making that happen as this is the quickest we've ever turned around winning checks.

ENJOY and save a little bit for this year's entry fees. A new season is almost upon us!!

You want to talk about odd? I cashed in on the insurance in two (NFBC XII) leagues that I won. 8-)

Just a heads up that some multiple winners will receive separate checks. It's just the way some batches ran, so if you do receive one check that isn't for the full amount, don't panic. Another check is on the way. Thanks all.

Anything over $10,000 needed approval. That was done on Tuesday and I believe all checks went out no later than Wednesday. They were all sent from Chicago, so be ready on the East Coast. If the mail delivers this week, the checks should be there.

This is the way it should be guys, GREAT JOB.
Unfortunately, you don't pay out for a 6th and 13th place finish. But there's always next year!
