This idea has been thrown around in another thread with some strong interest as well as the blessing of Greg, so I am trying to now make it official by getting a sign up list going. So here's the deal:

When: Saturday, December 1st Time: TBA
Where: Sheraton Crossroads Hotel, Mahwah, NJ (This was the venue of the first weekend of live NFBC drafts on the east coast)
What: A $375 NFBC Draft Champions League with 30 live rounds to be followed by the 20 additional on line, slow draft rounds shortly thereafter. An additional $125 per player side pot that will be split 75/25 between the first and second place finisher, with the third place finisher scoring the standard $1400 prize for a $375 league of this type.

I will reserve an executive board room in which to hold the event and work out the food at the hotel in terms of lunch and drinks. We will all be having dinner afterwards at a nearby bar and steakhouse to extend out the festivities which everyone can pitch in for when we're there. This a nice venue, for those of you who didn't attend last year, and very convenient and accessible from NJ, NY, and CT. So who's game and wants in? Let's get this special event, which is sure to be a blast, filled up quickly! Greg, if you could get the sign-up list going and keep it updated, we'd appreciate it. You can start if off with me and Gekko. Anyone else who has expressed interest about doing this in Poopy's 2013 Slow Draft thread when the idea was introduced, now is the time to commit ASAP!

Yeah, something like that. But you need to be there early anyway to set the draft board and player tags up to run the draft.

Highly unlikely, Saxton, unless you get her to draft a team for you, then you possibly would have a chance. And the answer to your question is, yes, we did in fact scare her away for life especially the way you were all over her like hair on a gorilla.

i just booked a room for 12/1 at the Sheraton Mahwah in the hopes my wife approves it. LOL. Easy to cancel if i have to.

Mike, I"m intererested but I thought it was going to be $375 and in NYC not $500 and in Mahwah (where is that, Nebraska? LOL).....I can't commit to drafting this early at this price level.....if you can change up a few of the details I'll do it. Maybe we can get 10 early drafters instead of 14 (Can Dan K fly in from Colorado...lol) Ken

Hey Ken,
The idea of the extra the side bet was brought up by Gekko. I liked it because of the investment that all of us will be making in time to do this I thought that it would good to spice it up a bit and up the ante. We're all the same boat anyway with the early drafting. Hopefully the extra $125 is not a deal-breaker for you as is the location in East Buttf*ck, NJ. Trust me. It will be well worth the investment to make the trip and to join in the festivities. We'd love to count you in. Where are you coming from? Mahwah is right at the NY/NJ border where the NJ Parkway and The New York Throughway meet. Google the Sheraton Crossroads Hotel in Mahwah, NJ. Nice venue and close to several post draft drinking and dining venues.

Hey Greg, now that you're back, how about a little help on this one so that we can make it happen on December 1st?

I am back now Mikey from my whirlwind tour of the Arizona Fall League and Manhattan. It was rough to see 4 inches of snow in Times Square after sitting at a baseball game 48 hours earlier with 88 degrees and sunshine!! Thanks for the home cooking in New York!!

Believe it or not, 9 days after travelling and a day after seeing New Yorkers struggling without power I flew home and when I got in my driveway my power was out. Heck, I could see the whole neighborhood and much of Iola was out of power. We didn't get power until 8:00 that night. We found out that a squirrel got zapped in the power grid, knocking out power for several hundred homes!! Only in Wisconsin.

I support this live Draft Champions League as long as it's $375 for 15 teams. If you want extra juice, that's up to you guys, but the entry fee is $375 if it's part of the overall championship. I trust it will be fun, wild, awesome and filled with great owners. I'd love to be a part of it. Let me know how I can help, but hopefully you guys pull it off. And if not early December, then maybe after football season will work better. But let's shoot for Dec. 1st now.

yeah dec 1 is now not a good date for me. family committments. But if this happens early in 2013 I would be interested.

Considering how you performed against the Big Boys Massotto in your Mahwah Super last season, it is probably best that you stick to the $375 price point to try and get your confidence back. Even AROD, had to go back to the minor leagues a few times before he got himself straightened out. However,he didn't have anywhere near the same talent as you possess.

Just a quick update to all those interested. I'm moving this event to January right after we're through all the holidays and football season. Please post if you'd be interested in joining us then. Thanks.
