NFBC Ultimate Auction League: Sunday, March 24th

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Nov 12, 2012 11:38 am

Our 9th annual NFBC Ultimate Auction League will take place on Sunday, March 24th at 4 pm PT at the Bellagio Las Vegas. I had tried to move it off the same day as the Diamond League, but time is limited this year because of Easter on the Second Weekend. I just sent out an email to last year's participants and they have through the month of November to secure their spots for 2013. We do that each year for the Diamond and Ultimate League participants because these have become almost like "home leagues."

We currently have 13-16 owners who want to get into the Ultimate Auction League, including 4 new owners. Again, last year's owners have first dibs and then we'll open it up to the whole community. Entry fee remains at $5,000, there are no Events Fees or co-manager fees and we'll do this live at the Bellagio on Sunday, March 24th.

Currently asking for spots include:
Michael Stevens
Dave Potts
Ken O'Brien
Josh Blumenreich
Kevin Kirves
Will Tyrer
Jon Stadtmueller
Lindy Hinkelman
Ken Norred
Brian Ogan
Jim Ferrari
Glenn Lowy (tentative)
KJ Duke (tentative)
Scott Fleming (new)
Ted Cohan (new)
Rob Silver (new)
Donald Warner (new)

Please email me at [email protected] if you want to return to this league and I'll secure your spot. Also, we are taking a vote on Miniminum Innings Pitched for the NFBC Ultimate Auction League. Here are your options:

a) 1,000
b) 1,100
c) 1,200

Email me your thoughts at [email protected]

Thanks all and good luck.

We've added Lindy and Ken Norred since this email went out and Rob Silver also threw his hat into the ring if there are openings, so we are close to a full league again. We still have 5 owners from last season that I haven't heard from yet and a few of them are sure to return. Should be another fun year.

Brian Ogan also returns for the NFBC Ultimate Auction League, so we're now one step closer to filling this one up. It's going to be a fantastic 10th anniversary season everyone!! Thanks.

Greg, if are going to attempt a Super Auction with a $2500 price point in Vegas that would be similar to what you offered in the NFFC feel free to count me as a signup. I need to avoid the Ultimate Auction or I'll be paid a visit from Hog Farming Hitmen from Greencreek, Idaho.

I do want to add a Super Auction League, but I haven't found the perfect time yet for this event. We have the NL Auction on Friday morning and the AL Auction on Friday afternoon along with the Auction Championship, then Saturday is so full with the Main Events and then Sunday with the Supers, NFBC XII's, Diamond and Ultimate. Could we do the Super Auction at the same time Sunday at 4 pm as the Ultimate Auction??

Someone help me out with a perfect time and I'll add this one. I like it. Now I just have to fit it in. Thanks all.

Seems like you are getting a solid response to the Ultimate Auction. Place it on Sunday, same time slot and those
That don't make the cut for the Ultimate have a fall back option. Sell it as a 12 Team Super with the possibility
To expand by three if the interest is strong enough. Clone Mr Tinker and have him handle both Auctions! Actually,
REX does an outstanding job as well, especially when he is paired with Jack. Be a great way to finish off the weekend.

We are busting at the seams for the Ultimate Auction League right now. We have four new owners on the list above to go along with the 13 owners from last year. There are 2 owners from last year yet who likely will return. It's possible that we could do another auction on Sunday night and make this work. I'll push for that date now. Saturday night could be an option, but we already have a lot of things going that night and some folks like to chill out after the Main Event.

Rex, Jack and even me, we have plenty of options for a 2nd auction on Sunday night. No worries there.

We'll start the 2013 Signup List later this week, so look for that soon. Our goal is to make Registration live shortly and get this season started, so get ready everyone. Our defending NFBC champ, Dave Potts, has already given me his early schedule of events, so he will lead off things for us. CAN'T WAIT!! :D

Aloha Greg, you can count me in as one who'd do a Super Auction if it's on the 24th.
