Update On Fantasy Sports Insurance

I heard from Henry late last week and he said that all Fantasy Sports Insurance claims have been processed and checks were going out this week. Again, his company had a lot of work to do because of Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast, but checks will be going out this week, so look for those. Thanks for all your patience everyone.
We will be offering free insurance again this year to owners who pay via check or money order for their Main Event, NFBC XII or Auction Championship teams. It's a nice savings for everyone and it could pay back 20% of your entry fee if your designated top star misses 60+ days to injury. Hopefully, you don't lose your top star, but it's always reassuring to have free insurance on him if you do.

There is a link under Learn More above in the green navigational bar that pulls down to Fantasy Sports Insurance that explains all of this:

WE ARE READY!!!!

With any luck we'll do final testing today and get these first drafts rolling this week yet. The problem with baseball, as you all know, is making sure every new Player ID is in the system and that position eligibility is aligned perfectly for 1,200+ major and minor-leaguers that we have in the draft room. Once you turn on the draft engine, it's much tougher to make those corrections while drafts are taking place. So we are doing everything we can to make sure everyone is assigned properly. Football is so much easier!!
Once we're good to go, we'll set up the leagues in the system and email updates on the KDS deadline and the start date will go out automatically. Everyone have your KDS preferences set already if you're in full leagues because we won't wait too long between when the email goes out and when the drafts start. And I think we have all of these Draft Champions Leagues starting at 6 pm ET, so be ready AND HAVE FUN!!

These were the players who qualified under FSI's guidelines and were on their Top 100 list:
Chase Utley Missed 79/162 games
Lance Berkman Missed 130/162 games
Jacoby Ellsbury Missed 88/162 games
Evan Longoria Missed 88/162 games
Troy Tulowitzki Missed115/162 games
Michael Pineda Missed Season
Michael Morse Missed 60/162 games
I believe Jose Bautista missed 70 of 162 games. I'll check with FSI on that one.

I got a check in the mail today for $400. Thank you very much what an awesome perk.

Good to hear Joe. I knew they were going out this week. But isn't it great that NFBC prize winnings went out like six weeks ago!!

We beat the insurance company's claims department by more than a month!!

I also received my check today. It had completely slipped my mind that it was coming. A very nice surprise.
Thanks Greg, Henry. This is a nice little perk to playing this contest.
