We currently do not have any events scheduled for New York on Thursday, March 28 primarily because we're not sure how many people would come into the city for that night. But we do not want to close off any possible options, especially with the Easter holiday making things trickier for us this year in New York. So if we were to offer events on Thursday would people be interested? I've already been contacted regarding interest in doing an auction that night but before we go ahead and start making plans to secure room space I want to be sure we'll be able to fill 1-2 leagues that night.

So let me know East Coasters. Do you want us to offer events on Thursday night March 28? What says all of you?

Thanks Ken. That would give us two teams for a possible auction that night. Anyone else want to make it a three-day weekend of events in New York?

One thing I want to stress is I don't want this to take away from anything we're offering on Friday. For example, I wouldn't want people who are in an auction on Friday dropping out of that to do an auction on Thursday. If that's the case, we'll stick with Friday. So let's keep that in mind. This would be an option in addition to what we're currently offering, not a replacement.

not sure if i am the other one you were talking about that would do thursday..but i would do an auction thursday(and still do friday auctions).

I wasn't referring to anyone Andy, honest. Just wanted to make it clear that creating Thursday as a replacement for Friday doesn't do us any good. But if you're in for an auction I think I'll go ahead and start a signup list and see where things go from there. How about if we offer a $1,000 auction on Thursday, March 28 at 6 pm ET. Does that work? If so let me know and I'll put a list together and start working my magic behind the scenes to make all this happen.

Thanks Hal. OK, I'm going to change the thread title and start a signup list. Nothing is official yet but let's see if we can get some momentum going and if so we'll add Thursday to the calender. Again, I want to be clear this auction would be added in addition to the two we're offering on Friday. This shouldn't be viewed as a replacement.

Who else wants to dive in? Let's see where this takes us.

This would be great, and would allow for the MTM Super to go down Friday night as planned without conflict (at least not in terms of scheduling ). Tom, be sure to put Magner down for the MTM Super Friday night once this Thursday auction is locked and loaded as he is quite available now that he has punked out on The Diamond and has plenty of Christie's money to burn.

the 1300 auction is still a conflict with your super mike.....that one is schedule for 5 pm.........

Correct. I think the options right now for the Super are:

1. Leave it as is and a couple of people will have to choose between Super and $1,300 auction on Friday night.

2. Move Super to Thursday night. Could conflict with this new auction but still an option.

3. Move Super to 1 pm ET on Friday. No conflicts currently of any kind with any other events based on signup lists.

I'd prefer not to do that Mike since we've had this auction on this day and time for the past few years. Also, some people do both auctions on Friday and there'd would be no way to do that if we move the start time for the $1,300 earlier in the day. So as of right now, my preference is to not alter the start times for either of Friday's auctions since they've always been on the second Friday at those times. Since the Super was the first weekend last year that's the one I think we need to focus on since we're trying to make that work a week later this year.

At this point, Tom, I would just leave it as a later evening start for Friday night. I don't know what else to tell you. I would have hoped that this event being a Super that was full last year like it was, would warrant the same level of intention in being accommodated in the schedule as it falls this year as much as a second auction. It doesn't seem as though there is any other option. This won't work as an early morning event, so if things are going to be set up that conflict with it, then people will just have to choose. I would appreciate that there will eventually be the same level of importance and urgency put on having the MTM go down as successfully as it did last year without having me spend the next three to four months pushing it on my own around an already challenging schedule due to the Easter weekend this year. Many of the MTM participants are waiting to see how this all shakes out before committing to it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mike, we're doing what we can here. The Easter weekend is making it tough on us to get everything in with the East Coast that we typically provide. I'm sorry if you feel the Super league is being slighted. That's not our intention at all. But with just one East Coast weekend this year we have to figure out a way to get everything scheduled. That isn't easy.

Personally, I think moving the Super to 1 pm on Friday is the best solution since it provides the best opportunity to allow everyone to play in all of the events they want without missing out on something on Friday. But I understand if you and the Super crew want to do it on Friday night. I get that. Unfortunately if we keep it there that means there will be a conflict with the $1,300 auction which would impact two people specifically who played both events last year. I don't want to force people to choose one over the other but if we're keeping the Super on Friday night we don't have any other choice.

Let's hope this is a one-time only situation with us being up against Easter and we won't have this problem any time soon in the future. But for this year it's forcing us to make some decisions in New York. Hopefully everyone will understand that we're doing the best we can here to accommodate everyone and provide the leagues everyone wants to be in.

The MTM Super won't work for me on Friday afternoon, as I will be signing up with a partner for the Friday morning auction (and, if we instead do the Thursday night auction, I would likely still have difficulty with a Friday afternoon event). I also agree with Mike that this Super should in any case be an evening event, and I strongly prefer that it remain on Friday evening as planned, at whatever start time works best for the group. We LOVE the MTM Super and the 15 crazies who had a BLAST last year in it. We're giving this primetime billing on Friday night, as it should be. There were TWO owners who were in both the $1,300 Auction Championship and the MTM Super last year, so the crossover of owners isn't that big. Michael and Roy will make the best decisions for themselves and we apologize for making them decide between the two live events, but next year when Easter isn't on the Second Sunday we won't have this problem. I trust that both events will fill and it will be a WILD time on Friday night in the Big Apple.

The MTM Super stays on Friday night and the $1,300 Auction Championship stays on Friday night. Again, there were 28 unique owners between the two events last year. There's no reason to believe that both can't fill on this perfect time in New York City. And adding a Thursday Night Auction Championship and even an NFBC XII if needed is fine by us. Let's extend this to three days if needed and make Thursday night replace our old Sunday setup. We can do it all. Why not?
