Okay, how is this signing going to affect anyone's fantasy values? Does Hamilton gain any additional value hitting in that lineup? Does Pujols gain any value with Trout on base ahead of him and Hamilton hitting behind him? Does Trout score even more runs with Pujols and Hamilton behind him?

Wow, lots of good stuff in Los Angeles these days. Some of us on the East Coast and Midwest might have to stay up late to watch our top fantasy players.

Let's hear your thoughts.

I love Stanton to the Rangers. That would move him way up on draft boards!

Actually I bet Stanton stays and Texas picks up Bourn and LaRoche (and maybe Delmon Young for DH as well).

The Angels want players that are 'On'
They've traded for Hanson, and signed Blanton, Madson, and Hamilton.

I believe the MLB TV "I wish" speculator team last night was first to predict Stanton to Rangers....makes sense to me.

Regardless of what happens, Hamilton and Stanton are OF # 6 and 7 behind Braun, Trout, McCutchen, CarGo, and Kemp. Giancarlo and Hamilton don't have the 30/30 upside the top 5 OF have

One thing I've enjoyed is the 'stealthiness' and quickness with which the Angels make a deal.
It's like over dinner the night before, the owner gets together with the General Manager and it goes like this....

1. I'm smelling that Hamilton is not happy with his offers.
2. Our rivals are dragging their feet.
3. Let's blow 'em out of the water.
4. Call Hamilton, tell him we want to meet him and his agent tomorrow, no press.

The next day...
5. Take it or leave it offer, Mr. Hamilton. No phoning home to Texas for a match.
6. Our offer is off the table if a call is made. Talk it over with your agent.
7. Welcome to the team, Mr Hamilton.
8. Call the press.
9. A good 24 hours.

correct - his home run total should go down without playing half his games in Arlington

over the last 5 years in texas (one shortened) hamilton has had pretty even splits in 3 of 5 years. i think being surrounded by a better lineup and a better manager will do wonders for him. he is just going to be hating life when he sees how much California is going to tax him, he's going to miss texas there! Its a sad joke out here.

Last year the California Angels upped the ante and started the season with eight players earning $9,000,000 to $24,500,000 or approximatly $113,000,000. And that gave them zero playoff wins. Actually zero playoff appearances.

They dropped some of those salaries (Abreu, Santana, Haren), but gave those gains back to sign Hamilton. There is now nearly $50,000,000 tied up over the next three years between 31 year old fragile Hamilton and 34 year old part-timer Vernon Wells, whose salary they will probably eat because Wells is a man without a position. Pujols contract really escalates to $23,000,000 by 2014, at which time he will be 34 (?). Deep pockets are a wonderful thing. In short, they should change their name to the Los Angeles Yankees of Anaheim.

And they still don't have a third baseman! And is the pitching staff better with Hanson and Blanton over Haren and Santanta? Well, at least Hanson and Blanton are cheaper.

Does Hamilton make them better? I guess. I wouldn't want to pitch to them even when they "just" had Pujols, Trout, Trumbo, and Morales. Did they really need Hamilton?

It will be fun to watch what happens if they fail to make the playoffs again.
