Draft Order For 3rd Annual $1,000 Draft Champions

Thanks to Max Ogden for having the foresight to envision a $1,000 entry point three years ago when our slow drafts were just starting to get popular. He believed in the concept that a higher price point was needed and that demand would quickly sell it out. He was right in 2011. He was right in 2012. And he was right in 2013.

So here we are with a sellout for the $1,000 Draft Champions League before the New Year and draft spots ready to be announced. Let me first say a BIG THANKS to all the participants. This is a rich group of owners in more ways than one!! :lol: This is a great group of owners and I know the camaraderie in this league is second to none. Enjoy and best of luck to all 15 owners.

Remember that we are paying 80 percent in league prizes PLUS the $25 per team in the overall contest. Payouts are $8,000 for 1st, $3,000 for 2nd and $1,000 for 3rd. Plus all of you are eligible for the overall prizes in the NFBC Draft Champions National Championship, including the $10,000 grand prize. Good luck. Oh, and enjoy the next 6+ weeks of smack talking, the 2+ weeks of drafting and then the 6 months of the season!! I have a feeling that some owners will keep up the rhetoric for the next 8+ months and not skip a beat!! :lol:

Here are some quick facts about the KDS process and then the 15 KDS listings:

** The average KDS preference received was 5.06, which means that on average everyone got their 5th preference. Not bad for this early in the season since so many folks were straight 1-15.

** 3 owners got their 1st preference and 11 of 15 owners got a Top 5 preference. Again, not bad.

** 11 of 15 owners still have 1, 2, and 3 as their top preferences in some order.

I went straight butter in this one, 1-15. Wound up with pick #13. I would venture to guess my name didn't actually get pulled out of the hat as it was the last one left! :lol:

With being the statistical anomoly that I appear to be in regards to KDS, at least I can take solace in knowing that I have the potential to infuriate MTM who resides right behind me. :D

I was happy with any of the Top 4 spots, though I was kinda dreaming about the # 1 Spot!

You should all be so lucky to be sandwiched with me. :mrgreen: Once again, try as I may, I cannot get into the top three picks in the drafts. First two years in the 15 hole, and now this year in the 14th. :roll: Dave, let me know if you would like to swap draft spots so that I can keep my streak going. :D

Mike, I totally know how you feel. I have wanted to be in the Top 3 in both my drafts, but got the 4th spot in both. Its fine, but would have preferred to get a shot at the Top 3 Guys Once!
Your not switching spots either pal, we need to throw you off your game so you finish even farther out of the money in 2013! ;)

Oh wait, there's still Max, who always seems to want to put off the start of this league til pitchers & catchers report at a minimum (or the All-Star Break if he could). :(
I guess as a Cubs fan, he's learned how to deal with infinite patience. :? :P

That's my Uncle Stan. He'll be 124 years old on Opening Day.

He puts in 3 miles every day on his stationary bike and says he's gonna keep doing it until the Cubs win the World Series again.

Uncle Stan said he has a good feeling about the team this year, especially if " that kid Santa or Sano or Santo or whatever his name is, can do a good job at third" ................sometimes Uncle Stan forgets what year this is ;)
