XM Fantasy Alarm show - Trout ADP

I listened to 2 "experts" discussing thier Top OF and Top Overall Rankings last night on XM Fantasy. Each one said Trout was at best a number 15 or so pick overall and a 2nd rd pick. They also had him ranked at number 7 OF or so. I understood thier reasoning, mostly he cannot duplicate last year, He's young and 2nd yr regression stuff. But While I listened I kept thinking what do the NFBC oweners know that they dont, since he is being drafted 1-2 overall generally. They did not mention NFBC ADP. Their other rankings of other players were also totally disjointed with current NFBC ADP. I wonder just how much the listening audience relies on this type of opinion, I know I dont. It will be interesting to see where the other "experts" draft Trout in tommorrow nights FSTA Draft. It does seem overall "expert opinion" is all over the map too when you listen to XM fantasy radio. It's because Jeff Mans is a loud-mouth, friggin', idiot who thinks his schtick is amusing. He should stick to football where a "mind" like his is better suited. If you caught him earlier in his rant, he said that he was reviewing Mock Draft Central ADP's and wondering why they were so wildly skewed as compared to his own. Gee, I wonder why that would be? Maybe he should take a look at the NFBC ADP's so he can see how people who actually know what the f!@# they're doing are drafting.

Taking advice from a fantasy radio host over the NFBC ADP is like believing Brent Musberger's opinion over Vegas oddsmakers.

Their audience is made up mostly of 'Yahoo Kids'.
Armed with this 'advice' and their stack of magazines, they are set for their drafts.
Mockdraftcentral is good for some things, but adp should be avoided.
Soon, those hosts will be asked by a caller if they should trade Trout for Ethier and Ed Jackson......
And let the hilarity begin.

Trout will be picked in the Top 3 tomorrow night. Yes, there are plenty of industry writers who say they wouldn't take him in the first round because they believe he can't duplicate last year's numbers. That's okay. But he will still be a Top 3 pick tomorrow and he will be a Top 3 pick in most NFBC drafts. By season's end, we can all review and see who was right.

There are a few who use the NFBC ADP like Erikson, Van Riper, but most do not, as well as all the various web sites and web reporters who all tout thier own "expertise". I agree Mock draft Central ADP's are totally useless. As many have said, "follow the money"

There is no way to creditably make an argument that Trout is not a first rounder - even if you regress the hell out of his numbers he will play six months this year not five like last year so even lower numbers that are any way reasonable still make him a first round pick - of course putting him out of the top three picks in a 15 or even 12 teamer is going against the crowd.

But I suspect that Mans or others who would suggest he is not a first round pick are just trying to rile up phone calls - they can't even make up numbers to justify it in real draft contexts.

Vegas oddsmakers would have her ranked even higher. Musberger probably drools like that over every cheerleader he passes in the tunnel. :)

Mockdraftcentral ADP as of today

1. OF - Mike Trout, ANA
1.50
2. OF - Ryan Braun, MIL
2.20
3. 3B - Miguel Cabrera, DET
2.57
4. OF - Matt Kemp, LA
4.54
5. 2B - Robinson Cano, NYY
5.77

The top 3 are still the same as the NFBC, though Braun is 1 and Trout is 3, but not by much. I am not sure what the debate is here. If Trout's stats are 20% lower in 2013, he would still be a top 5 pick. This guy from XM is clueless.

Other than Votto in the first round, over Pujols (just my opinion, both are very close in value), I like Greg's draft so far. Josh Hamilton in the middle of the 2nd is very good value.

Team one looks very good thru the first 20 rounds. Greg should have taken S tras over Castro imop
