Positives: You got the saves category pretty well covered with 2 guys who could get 40 apiece. I like Alex Rios as a 5th OFer.
Negatives: Took Nomar too early. You're rotation needs some help. I like Bonderman, but as a 3 or 4. As a #2 guy, you're putting alot on his shoulders. where are you gonna get your power numbers? Guerrero is the only lock for 30+ Hrs. Giambi is 50/50 to get there, then who else?

Thanks guys. I agree with you about the question marks in the power department. I am banking on Giambi and Francouer to join Vlad in the 30+ HR club (Francoeur may be a bit of a stretch). I also look for solid rebounds from Nomar, Giles and Renteria.
I am a little bit more optimistic about my pitching. I count a little more on Zach Duke as my #2 over Bonderman. Duke may not pile on the wins, but I hope for a solid sophmore campaign and marginal improvement from Bonderman.
I was going to take Shields if he snaked back to me 5 picks after GG. I was high on Anthony Reyes who I selected in round 18 and viewed Morris as a safe pick for 14+ wins in round 19.

btw, it was a pleasure meeting you at the draft.

Giles in the second scares me. You will enjoy D Roberts in the spot you drafted him. 40 bags is not out of the question for him

Jarobi, in comparing our teams, I would give you a clear edge at Cs and 3B. I have an edge at 1B and SS. 2B, MI, CI, are a wash. I would also give you an advantage at OF with Berkman v. Francouer. I would take my SP and RP, but your top 3 starters and RP are very solid. My bench has some more upside potential.
Let's hope our common players, V. Guerrero, M. Giles and P. Maholm have great seasons.

Rfitz..nice start with Arod, Helton, Furcal and Pedro....lacking a little in saves and not sure on the depth of your staff but if you make the right FA pickups you should be in decent shape..

Thoughts appreciated! (Note Cabrera will start in the OF and Ellis as the UTIL). The 4th and 5th OF spots are split between 6 guys depending on whether SB's or HR's are needed more. I know a 2nd closer is needed, but I just wasn't going to join in on the Closer run just for a mediocre 2nd - they were all going off the board 3 rounds earlier than liberal expectations.
1 10 Miguel Cabrera
2 21 Jimmy Rollins
3 40 Pedro Martinez
4 51 Richie Sexson
5 70 Rickie Weeks
6 81 Eric Chavez
7 100 Jose Valverde
8 111 Edgar Renteria
9 130 John Lackey
10 141 Josh Willingham
11 160 Javier Vazquez
12 171 Chris Young
13 190 Lyle Overbay
14 201 Mark Ellis
15 220 Moises Alou
16 231 David DeJesus
17 250 Ryan Madson
18 261 Odalis Perez
19 280 Jeff DaVanon
20 291 Jake Westbrook
21 310 Anthony Reyes
22 321 Jason Kubel
23 340 Victor Diaz
24 351 Rondell White
25 370 Tom Glavine
26 381 Brett Tomko
27 400 Ryan Langerhans
28 411 Fernando Rodney
29 430 Nook Logan
30 441 Gerald Laird

edelman24 - points all well taken. the one thing with the first pick is once you go 28 players come off the board (in a hurry). really have to think it out where you want to go with a player.
i am hopeful, that as in year's past, there will be many a pitcher who comes out of nowhere that makes a valuable add to the roster.
we'll see!

Hey Baseball nut.
I like your team a lot, especially your offense.
Harden and King Felix is a nice 1-2 with good upside on Schmidt.
Solid start to relief.
I am sure I will be seeing your name at the top of the league.

Hey Fitzy,
I also like what you did in the one hole.
Unfortunately you stole a few of my picks .
You have great balance, steady players that will produce coupled with a few upside targets in Fielder, Drew and Duffy.
You and I will fighting for pitching with FAAB.
best of luck rest of way and hopefully see you in the money.

Big Fish - I didn't see your team. What does it look like?
Pitching is so tricky. I will definitely be hunting the FA's.
Good luck to you!

Hey Fitz,
Here it is.
C-LaRue
C- Valentin
1B - Pujols
2B - Polanco
SS - O. Cabrera
3B - B. Mueller
CI - D. Johnson
MI - D. Eckstein
OF - C. Lee
OF - J. Pierre
OF - A. Huff
OF - B. Giles
OF - H. Matsui
I will move Huff to 3B once he qualifies and put Kotchman as UTIL. That will help the appearance of my infield which looks like a team of small ball with exception of Fat Albert and Dan Johnson. I may also play Castillo as MI for extra power if I dont need the SB's in place of Eckstein.
SP - Beckett
SP - Escobar
SP - Contreras
SP - Bedard
SP - Loaiza
RP - J. Nathan
RP - C. Orvella
RP - D. Weathers
RP - M. Timlin
Bench - Eaton, A. Reyes, S. Olsen, J. Rincon
I like my offense a lot. Not so positive about my pitching. I felt like I didn't reach at all during the draft except on 2 occassions, most notably Beckett in the 7th round and Granderson in the 13th round. However, Granderson I am more comfortable with because he will earn his keep in the end at 13. Beckett, not the staff ace I wanted or needed. Escobar also question marks.
The only consolation about the pitching dillema is with the exception of a few SP studs, many came with their fair share of risk this year. Should be interesting.
Let me know your thoughts.

I like Granderson's potential. He went 11.2 in our league. I was prepared to take him at 11.3

BigFish - I like Granderson. Any leadoff hitter that can go 20/20 is not a bad player to have and he has some talent behind him.
Also like Beckett and Escobar. Beckett could win 18 games and Escobar could have a sub 3.7 era with good K's.
