All the drafts went down smooth as always. First day of drafts(auctions). I'm doing the the NL auction 650 and I have a cute Mom drafting next to me. It was fun seeing her kiss her husband and send him off with the baby so she could draft.

I'll never forget her line. "I'm saving my money now. Don't worry when I start spending I'll spend alot." My wife would love this woman! The AL 1250 auction was tough! It always is. The league is stacked with some of the best players in the world. Well except for me. The main event was fun as always. It always makes it fun when the players next to you are enjoying themselves. This was the case for me. Thanks to Greg and all the experts who helped out during the drafts. :D

Walla, cool story. I was between Auctions on Friday and rushing back to the room to recharge the battery when I shared an elevator ride with a gal that said she was going to participate as a facillitator and then draft a team the next day. Turned out she worked my Mixed Auction league and needed no help from Ravitz or Berry. The next day, the same girl drafted her own team solo. Man, damn impressive. Wish I took a few minutes to say hello on that ride. Think her first name was Jules - hope she sets a new trend in bringing in some of the gals .... it was refreshing. She is in my pal John Menna & Jim Schumachers league so it will be interesting to see how she does! Vegas was a blast - very professional. No better Auctioneer than Brady Tinker.

I have to agree that Las Vegas was awesome! Actually, I think it was better than the first two years. More people being more friendly! I think the first two years that there weren't many people who knew each other and they were afraid to socialize too much for fear of giving away their edge. This year, I think everyone was there to have a great time. It was a great experience bouncing strategy ideas around with Eddie Gillis, Shawn Childs, Jim Ferrari, and others. And it was interesting to be in a draft with Hank and see him not use the all relievers strategy... Hank, your strategy this time at least got some respect 'cause pick 15 in the Ultimate Draft (who was pick 12 or 13 in LV 3 with us) used the same one, grabbing the same top three picks that you did.

Alert and educated Managers in Las Vegas 2. I think we may have set a record for fastest draft, we were done in under three and a half hours. Managers who knew who they wanted and facilitators that knew what they were doing, a great combination.

George is right, I did end up with the same 3 guys at 15 in the Ultimate (Fig/Reyes/A.Jones). It was SO nice not to have to worry about speed the rest of the draft. I ended up tanking BA and will go for the 14/14/14/14/1 strategy in hitting. Great drafting with you guys and best of luck as long as you finish behind me!

P.S. Many props for Brady and his auctions! Out of there in around 4 hours in both the AL and NL $1250. He made the day fly by.

Even more impressive was the fact that the woman handling the small board was completely up to date with posting the labels on her board too. Great draft. My gut tells me the cahmp will come from LV2!
