Scott Kazmir fanned three over two shutout innings Friday in a 9-7 win over the White Sox.

Kazmir gave up just one hit and didn't walk a batter. Meanwhile, the strikeouts were to consecutive batters. Kazmir now has four strikeouts and no walks over four scoreless innings during Cactus League play and has received rave reviews from manager Terry Francona.

I think you should draft him fairly early or you will miss out on him!! Why do you post this crap, is it you don't think other people know this information? Maybe you should draft both Kazmir and Javier Vazquez!! :o

Kazmir isn't being drafted in the first 30 rounds now, be he will be shortly. Remember, his career high for K's in a season is 239K's when he was with Tampa.

No time for FAAB leagues this year. Are you waiting to be the 420th main event sign-up?

Did you know...

*his average FB velocity the year he K'd 239 was 92.1mph
*then he got hurt and his velocity went all the way down to 86.5mph
*TODAY "He pitched scoreless ball in the fourth and fifth innings, hitting 90 mph to 92 mph, while striking out three."

Also, did you know? over his career he walks more than 4 batters per 9 IP, has a lifetime WHIP over 1.40, has always been HR prone and has been a below-average strikeout pitcher since 2008? Hey, where's the Mark Prior thread? As a Cub fan I feel cheated.

Just terrible timing for this thread!
I can just see a mustachio'd fella pulling at Childs sleeve in Arizona saying, Did you see what Kazmir did, Shawn?
I've always loved that guy. BID! BID! '

Aw c'mon, Jim! :D
Just think of Mark as that guy out in front of the business on the corner who twirls those signs to draw attention.

that is VERY misleading KJ. Prior to him getting hurt, his three year ERAs and WHIPs:

2006 - ERA 3.24; WHIP 1.27
2007 - ERA 3.48; WHIP 1.38
2008 - ERA 3.49; WHIP 1.27

The only thing this guy can bring to the table (for where he is being drafted) is
P.U.R.E.
P.R.O.F.I.T.

according to the NFBC ADP report, Kazmir is the 208th SP being taken on average in the 45th round. i would venture to say if you wanted him NOW, a good place would be the early 30's. IF his comeback is REAL, he will be going in the teens come the end of March.

How many of the 40 draft champion teams did you snag him? 39 of 40?

And all this idiocy coming from a guy who won't be drafting anyone in the teens come late March, let alone Kazmir. That would mean that he would have to be drafting against top competition in the live, high stakes events, which we all know, aint happening.  But on the bright side, sounds like there will be a couple more DC's for Gekko to get Kazmir in the teens when he should be drafting other pitchers that aren't washed up pieces of shit.

I've got 60 starting pitchers on my ratios-are-too-bad to draft list. Kazmir's four wonderful spring innings has moved him closer to making that list ... but for now he's still in the tier "not-even-worth-putting-on-the-too-bad-to-draft list".

I guess when his value was 1 cent, and now is 25 cents, his major profit return is 25 fold!!

Even KJ the financial advisor would agree with that math!

Scott Kazmir?
You must have him confused with Scott Bankhead, who pitched in the 80's and 90s:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/playe ... sc01.shtml

I count 3 years where he was below a 3.00 ERA. And 2 years with a WHIP below 1.20. Now, he retired in 1995 and hasn't pitched for a while, but that means his arm has had plenty of rest. I would grab this guy without hesitation, as a late round gamble!
