However, the one contest that seems to be dragging behind expections -- and even behind last year's pace -- is the NFBC XII. We'll take the blame for that because we probably don't push this contest enough or write enough about it. It's caught between the NFBC Main Event, the Online Championship and the Draft Champions Leagues. We may have also priced this wrong, thinking that at $1,000 per team we could bring in more new players, when in fact it's our veteran players who like the format. We need to find a way to get this grand prize bigger than $5,000 and next year we may have to GO BIG OR GO HOME!! Either we make this $75,000 or $100,000 or not do it, and honestly, I love the format and the idea of a 12-team Main Event. In fact, a 12-Team Main Event has as much if not more potential than the 15-Teamer, so it's up to us here at the NFBC and STATS to figure this out.
But it remains a $1,000 entry fee league for this year with a $50,000 grand prize. The top league prize is $4,000 and you can double your money for second place. You also can win an additional $75,000 cash bonus by winning the overall titles in the NFBC XII and NFBC Main Event. That sure seems possible here as last year Chad Schroeder led both overalls for 2+ months and in the final weeks Dave Potts actually held the lead in both overalls. So the odds favor that possibility in the NFBC Main/NFBC XII more than it does in the NFBC Main/NFBC Online where Lindy Hinkelman did it in 2009.
Last year we finished with 252 teams (21 leagues) with prizes based on 300 teams. We currently have 140+ teams in the NFBC XII. We're not even half full yet. I think we can still reach 20 or 21 full leagues, but even at that level the Return On Investment (ROI) is fantastic for you players. We are not changing the prize structure for this league as we are committed to this format, so take a look at the draft dates again and take advantage of the decreased demand. If you win your league title, you suddenly have a 1 in 18 or 1 in 20 chance of really winning the overall title and the $50,000 grand prize. There isn't any contest that we offer with better odds of winning a grand prize like this.
Plus, if you are already in the NFBC Main, you can get rid of your Events Fees and co-manager fees by taking an NFBC XII. We have several owners paying $1,625 for the Main Event. For $875 you can add an NFBC XII and possibly win $230,000+ instead of just $106,500!!! I like to look at it that way. It's a wise investment in a tough market!!

If you have any questions about this format or about the prizes, contact me at [email protected]. We'd love to have you in both Main Events or in the NFBC XII as a new member. Thanks all.
Here is the current signup list for the NFBC XII. I'll keep updating the Signup List thread, but for now you can see where the openings are. Jump in if you like the ROI and the format. Thanks all.
