Thanks Steve and Rick! I hope you guys tie for first

Steve, thanks for the write-up, you're a lot kinder to my team than I am. :D

Hey KJ, maybe you should open the door for dual ownership of draft spots in this league. Maybe that'll get that 14th spot sold.
There certainly could be no collusion here :D

We're already at 15 and maybe 16. Dual-ownership ... this is no CDM game, Dan. :D

Sorry to interrupt again.....
What is the reasoning on not letting somebody pick their own team?
We might think that everybody would select their own teams. I'm doubting it.
There is already enough money riding on our own teams. And no matter how well we think we may have done, we see other teams that look as appealing. Plus with the four rounds, it could be interesting to see how long we would hold off on drafting our own teams or see them disappear to a rival.
I'm just thinking aloud here in trying to maybe drum up even more interest for next year, but maybe a one round 'do not draft own team' rule could be made. This would give other drafters the chance to draft another's drafter's team, but not their own for a round.
So many interesting ways to go.
Good stuff.

I cannot convince KJ to allow drafting of our own teams. I agree. Nobody is going to draft my teams, but me. But, I want to draft my own team. KJ, we want to draft our own teams. Let us. We can start this in the second round. There is really no reason to not allow us to do so. Kamakazi teams are ready to be drafted.

As I thought about how to structure this, I had two ideas:

(1) To see who people believe are either the best rosters coming out of the draft, or who the best team managers are, or some combination of both. I think it will be interesting to follow the 64 teams drafted on that basis and see how "predictable" these things are. The original idea from Jon related to handicapping/placing odds on the drafter. Drafting your own team skews both of these concepts.

(2) The competitive challenge, as I see it, is in evaluating rosters that you did not draft and will be run by owners who are not you. Drafting yourself says nothing about your skill in evaluating other drafters.

No it doesn't.
I was speaking of next year's draft. It should add some spice and open it up for drafters who want to add a little more money on their own teams....
