Consider this is an open invitation to anyone in NY #1. Whomever finishs better in our league standings takes the entire pool. $1000 (One Thousand) BUY IN. This means if everyone in the league was in, the league winner would get $14,000. Payable before or at the 2007 NFBC. No Pikers Please!!

I don't think the baseballtangent guys will get in. If they are looking for free cokes at the draft, they definitely can't afford the wager. I'd say by their team and their strategy. We won't be visiting their site for baseball info. Thanks for the donation!! You won't finish in the top five in your league.

Cindy (whatever happened to her?) will be pissed, but I can't pass up a chance to pimp CREATiVESPORTS.com. Certainly, I lack the talent, skill, audacity, etc. to write for BaseballTangent, but this week CS published my draft day column.

Like all of you, I am, naturally, in love with my team, and I am sure that it shows in the column. Of course, that love affair will likely hit the rocks come opening day, but for now, don't bother me, as I am in love.

Anyone interested in one man's opinion of the Las Vegas draft, specifically League #5, check it out Outside the Box > Stardust Memories

Sorry Cindy.

Meat Loaf is listed on the IMDB web site as both "Marvin Aday," and "Michael Aday."

I am assuming that Marvin and Michael are one in the same, but will have the column edited to reference Michael instead.

Thanks for the heads up.

Buster Just "bustin'" your balls! :D

But us LBS guys know him as, well Meat or Mr. Loaf (certainly not Marvin). As least you didn't make the common error of writing "Meatloaf".

Ok...this is hilarious...coming from the guy who drafted Ray Durham, Nook Logan , Dallas McPherson is awful, and thats a stud staff you got there kid...Gordon, Matt Morris, Burnett, Jerome Williams (wow) , Jason Marquis...you got some good depth there...hahahha....btw, speed was gone at the time Duffy was picked...I guess I was stupid not to wait for Nook Logan for my speed......That team clearly has the looks of the overall winner...Nice assessment of your competition...

[/QUOTE]Durham hitting 3rd, Bonds 4th...maybe Sportsbettingman can tell us what the over-under would be on that occurrance this year. Durham had 497 AB's last year with, count 'em, six SB's, and hasn't had more than 10 since '02.

Look at the bright side, he still may swipe more than Nook.

Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Hey Doughboys!

I'd set that at 100 to 1 that it happens (Durham 3rd, Bonds 4th) for more than 10 games...and over/under 6 games all season that Durham bats 3rd! (fluke injuries/crazy coaching) ...Durham may get back to his 2 hole due to injury...but he looks more like a 6th slot hitter.

I'm also guessing Bonds moves from 4th back to 3rd if he's playing well, and Alou batting 4th.

Durham still should justify his draft selection, and maybe please his owners.

~Lance First of all, I agree with Durham hitting 6th/7th in the lineup. No way he hits 2nd or 3rd (maybe, 10 years ago with CWS).

Having said that, 6 games being the over/under, but paying 100/1 for 10+ games? I'll take the long odds.

And your handle is "sportsbettingman"? ;)

You're right.

I love tequilla.

Those are some garbage odds...I beat the house...I don't have as much time BEING the house.

I'd win both bets...but the odds were terrible. (under 10 for sure...the 6...who knows)

;)

Did I mention I love tequilla?

~Lance Wow - I love those odds. CBS and the Sporting News both have Durham hitting 3rd.

Not saying it will happen, but it's not the remote possibility you guys seem to think it is.

The Giants homepage on MLB.com's projected lineup in an article released today:

BATTING ORDER

1. Randy Winn, CF:

2. Omar Vizquel, SS:

3. Ray Durham, 2B:

In his final contract season, Durham hopes to avoid the disabled list for the second straight year and duplicate his .290 average and in-the-clutch hitting. His defense looks sharper than ever.

4. Barry Bonds, LF:

5. Moises Alou, RF:

6. Lance Niekro, 1B:

7. Pedro Feliz, 3B:

8. Mike Matheny, C:Maybe some of you should give Alou a call and let him know that he's got his batting order wrong.

If I need to explain why please find another hobby quickly.

If you intention was to compliment the Baseball Tangent guys on their late game selection of a middle infielder who may hit .300 with power and a ton of runs, you're doing a great job.

MR. Beebeegunz AKA Tommygunz, Here is the point that you won't get unless you play this game. Durhan was a great player and still is a good player, but he is a player that you can't depend on. When you have to put in a roster in for a week at a time, there will be many weeks where he will miss time. You can't make up for lost time. I know he isn't in the top 15 2nd baseman this year, and I'm not sure he is in the top 45 middle infielders. He might be better than some, but I'd rather play someone I know will be in the line-up everyday. I've see you in NFBC message boards a lot lately so maybe you might learn a thing or two.
