KDS

I recall that last year, Greg would often post some anonymous KDS preferences and results. This year, I didn't see that. Besides the fact that the team was super busy running 100+ DC leagues, I suspect that part of the reason was more people than ever were going straight 1-15. Did anyone else notice a similar trend?

Most people that I spoke to did NOT go 1 to 15. Almost unanimously, these individuals
did have the top 2 or 3 picks at the top of their KDS. However, from there, the strategies differed greatly. Some went 1-2-3-15-14-13, others went 1-2-6-7-8, etc.
For me, I wanted to pick somewhat in the middle, with a slight lean towards the end of the drafts. Based on the inventory in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds, I believed that 10/11 was the sweet spot this year if you couldn't land Miggy or Braun. In the end, I wound up with 11/12/13 in my 3 drafts -- I suppose KDS "worked" in my case.

No, that's not the reason. People definitely weren't going 1-15 more often. In fact, there were many people who went 2,1,3 or 1,2,then something else. Near the end here, 3 was not a desired number.
There were just too many leagues to be posting the KDS every day. Heck, I struggled to keep up with the draft results, which I thought was more important for you folks. Not only that, but KDS was automated this year so the computer did this quickly for us each day. Something had to give this year with so many leagues that we were running and I guess posting KDS was one of those things. Sorry.
I can tell you that we are running 350+ NFBC leagues this year, a record season. The number of teams in 2013 was up 33% this year to over 5,000 teams. It's been an amazing, amazing season and we couldn't have done all of this without the superior work of STATS' IT team. They have made this possible by automating KDS, email sends to every league member, and more. Now we're seeing the technical improvements with Live Scoring and Live Overall Standings. It's now more fun to play in the NFBC and thankfully we have more teams playing here. It's all good.

You are spot on here. There were many owners who went 1,2 and then down to 9, 10 or 11. It seemed like 10 and 11 were desired spots for many veteran owners after 1,2. Some owners weren't afraid of 3 and were happy to take Ryan Braun there. But definitely 4-6 were not in the Top 6 of everyone's KDS.

My apologies if this came across as a criticism - it certainly wasn't meant to be at all. I never had any expectation that KDS needed to be shared, but when it wasn't, thought perhaps the results just weren't that interesting. Turns out they were - thanks for sharing.

I didn't take it that way. Looking at KDS preferences ahead of the live events is always fun to do and I wish I could have jumped in sooner on this. But the way we display KDS now is a bit different because it's automated, so that made it a little tougher, too. We'll see what we can do in the future.
