Any error after two outs = all runs being unearned.

dang it a late official scoring change got me
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com
(12:02 am ET) Shortly after the conclusion of Saturday's game between the Rays and Rockies, the official scorer made a change that affects David Price, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Price was originally charged with four earned runs but an error on Ben Zobrist in the seventh inning was changed. The left-hander was left on the hook for all nine runs, raising his ERA to 6.25.

This was god awful news to wake up to. The combination of Price / Dickey in my 12 teamers is holding every one of them back. What a brilliant strategy this has turned out to be. Last years Cy Young award winners have been horrific this season.

I wish I could trade my Main Event pitching staff for any one of my 12 teamers, who would have ever thunk it?

Seems analogous to the way pitchers crap the bed immediately after pitching a perfect game/no-hitter. See Humber, Santana, etc.

Cheers!

My decision to bench Price this wk turned out to be a very astute one. I just fear Colorado and despite a very intelligent player here advising me that I hafta let my stud SP correct their #'s, I went my own way. And my way is the hell w/ starting ANYBODY pitching in Colorado. (Kuroda and his 2 starts will be on the bench this wk).

On the other hand I've had Chris Tillman on the bench the last few wks (he sucked to start the yr) and that has not been as sage-like a move. I'm nowhere as smart as Wayne the bean counter so I never have any clue as to what the specific #'s are for my players (esp. BA, pitching ratios). I did click on the lil green link next to Tillman's name and saw this -

After a so-so start to the season, Tillman has been very strong over his last three outings, going 2-0 with a 1.31 ERA in 20 2-3 innings.

Ahhhh, win some...lose many

Always go with the gut, bro! Everyone here knows so much, but none know more. Make the calculated choice and like you wrote, sometimes it pays off. Good move.

does this get changed in the scoring for the nfbc also? My team says price got charged with 4 earned runs but still has a 12.5 era?

it was just changed today - I would expect the adjustment after the overnight update unless it has to be done internally

For an official scorer to flip flop so much with aid of instant replay at his disposal, I am guessing that there was a political tussle going on above his pay grade over his ruling.

When I saw it I thought it was clearly an error. I have no idea why he changed his original call in the first place. Just stupid to change it unless you're absolutely sure, and this one was a pretty routine play.

The MLB scoring committee did the change

All changes are done automatically and updated at the end of that night. If this change happened today, it will show up tomorrow for all David Price owners.

The Price is not right.... at least not on "live overall standings".... It was fixed overnight on my team page and in the overall standings. However, as I go to "live overall standings" I see my old team ERA and therefore a lot less overall ERA points and before a pitch was thrown or a batter at bat, my team dropped 8 places in the standings on the "live overall standings". Frustrating to see your team not really "live" overall.

Any chance we can fix "Live overall scoring" so it shows our real ERA - post Price correction? As I mentioned above, the standings are correct, but live overall scoring in the Online still shows my team's ERA prior to the Price correction. In other words, when I look at the overall standings in the morning they show my team correctly. But if I go to "live overall standings" they show my team without Price's unearned runs taken from my team's ERA. - Must be happening to all of us Price owners.

I'll definitely forward to IT.

Thanks Greg. It's hard looking at the "live scoring overall standings" and having to add 80-90 points to your total to know where you actually are. Seems crazy that Price's stats are correct on our league standings, league live and even in the overall standings in the morning, yet still wrong in the "live overall" standings.

We reran all of the stats within the Live Overall Standings this morning Pete, so it should be correct now.
