Top 60 ADP- Gold or Bust?

Post by Outlaw » Thu May 30, 2013 6:16 pm

Looking at the top 60 in ADP and 1/2 of them are complete washouts or probably going to be washouts, especially relative to where they were drafted and what owners needed from them. Seems slots 30-60 are really stinking it up this year.

Any of these under achievers have a chance of turning it around?

Just my opinion though...

Actually, I think we collectively did pretty well in the first two rounds (Top 30). Only five clear busts out of 30 by your count, and some are or may be injury related. After Round 2, however, things get much more shaky.

Every now and then, if I really want to torture myself, I'll go back and look at the original draft boards for some of my leagues. Yep, that was some pick grabbing Eric Hosmer ahead of Chris Davis.

If unlucky means "Bust", I will agree on Hamels. One win despite giving up three earned runs or less in eight of his last nine games, 91.3% strike out rate, less than a hit per IP, hasn't given up a HR on the road this year yet. First two games were brutal but has a 3.24 ERA and a 1.131 WHIP since.

Kind of this year's version of Cliff Lee from last year.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

If the jury is out on Ellsbury then I'd have to say the jury is out on McCutcheon too.

Playing better now but still a power shortage for someone in the top 10 ADP.

Keeping my fingers crossed McCutch will have a hot streak and get back to 2012 power levels soon.

I thought about sending him to the jury...
