What is that SMELL?

Oh...it is my pitching staff stinking it up quite a bit...I just love starting in a hole.

10 GS, 1 WIN! My starters (Vazquez, Schmidt, D. Davis, Millwood, Chen, R. Lopez) 5.489 ERA, 1.467 WHIP...K's were not too bad thanks to Schmidt and his 10.

Oh, and here is a great big raspberry for Felipe Alou...what is my cost for those 10 k's....you have a pitcher Jason Schmidt...33 years old...great when he is healthy but has a history of arm problems...so what do you do? If you are Felipe, you leave him in there for 120+ pitches IN APRIL! What did this guy do...rent the Davey Johnson video on how to burn out arms?

OK...Millwood is on my head as he had two starts at home, but outside of Ortiz, BST does not have any big lefty hitters that can scare you and who could of predicted DET would be so hot...and me with M. Batista and J. Johnson (cumulative 2 GS, 2 W, 1.286 ERA, 0.786 WHIP and 13 K's) on the bench.

My team is great but we have to shoot the manager!

Contrary to popular belief GM's don't manage for fantasy team results. They must have felt that Arroyo wasn't going to make a big difference for them this year. Meanwhile there's plenty of uncertainty in the OF between Nixon and Manny for 2007. Gives WMP a chance to learn from two great Dominican hitting stars without much pressure to win an MVP right away. Also a nice bat to have on the bench for situations in 2006.

I am very happy with how Schmidt looks after two starts, he has some velocity back over last year and regained control over his changeup. I think it could be a big year for him, looking for that contract. He has been victimized by the long ball a bit but I think he looked alot like this in the beginning of 2004 too. Let's hope Alou doesn't Dusty Baker us here

Amen to that!

Now if I could just get Prior into the game (I am one of the "cevants" who took a gamble on him), then I can worry about Dusty and Felipe all year!
