Pretty cool to have watched his entire career during my most-sports-aware years (i.e. not a kid). True class act. He will be missed. Greatest Closer of All-Time.

Not only greatest closer of all time but a true gentleman. Had the pleasure to meet him twice during his career. His son went to a summer day camp where my son worked as a camp counselor. Happened to be there one day when he came to pick up his son. Just could not believe that he showed up by himself with no entourage around him. Just another guy picking up his kid from day camp!!!The most well spoken gentleman you would ever want to meet.Very dedicated family man who really wants to spend valuable time with his family .Talk to him about his charity foundation and his face will light up like a roman candle!

Was watching the list of Records MO has, and its amazing how many will probably never be broken. Since 1900, lowest Career WHIP at 1.000. 96 Post season games he played in and in only 1 of them did the Yankees lose.

Most of us will probably never hear or see the Universally agreed and Acclaimed "Greatest of All Time" as it applies to one player (MO) at one posistion. When we look at closers, how many can even out up 2-3 good seasons, not many. To put it in perspective, Kimbrel would have to put up 15 more seasons like his first 3.

I'm not even a Yankees fan, but if that embrace with Andy Pettitte didn't make you cry then your tear ducts are broken. I mean, really, that was such a spontaneous, personal, perfect way for Mo to leave Yankee Stadium that it made you cry with him. You could tell that reality had just settled into his mind and to have Pettitte and Derek Jeter come out to the mound and give him the hook was very special. In fact, it was like Mo, PERFECT.

Kudos to the Yankees for a weekend of celebrating the game's best relief pitcher EVER. He was clutch in every situation and while there have been a lot of great closers before him, Rivera was simply the BEST and he rarely failed in big situations. His final numbers are as good as they get and will be tough to be matched again.
