We had a record year in the NFBC Main Event this year with 29 leagues and 435 teams, our highest total ever. We also had history in the making as Stephen Jupinka became the first owner to win his 6th NFBC Main Event title. Shawn Childs, a fellow NFBC Hall of Famer with Steve and Lindy Hinkelman, followed suit with his 5th NFBC Main Event title. Congrats to both Hall of Famers for great accomplishments.
We actually had THREE Main Event leagues end in ties in 2013 and two of them happened in New York City. New York League 1 saw Hal Goldstein and Roy Ericson end in a tie with 110 points each, while in New York 2 Glenn Lowy and Cory Schwartz ended in a tie with 107 points. In March 27th Online League 1, Keith Minnison tied with Patrick Tremaglio with 113 points each. That's how close many of these leagues were this year.
Dan Semsel & Ken Norred won the overall title in the NFBC Main Event this year and they also were the only owners to win 2 Main Event league titles this year.

It's important to note that only 4 owners have won four or more NFBC Main Event titles, led by Stephen Jupinka with 6 titles. Here's the current list:
NFBC Main Event Multi-League Champions:
6 NFBC League Titles:
Stephen Jupinka: 2004, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013
5 NFBC League Titles:
Shawn Childs: 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2013
4 NFBC League Titles:
Mark Srebro: 2007, 2008, 2010, 2010
3 NFBC League Titles:
Michael Cameron: 2005, 2010, 2011
David Deterra: 2006, 2010, 2011

Scott Jenstad: 2009, 2012, 2013
Cory Schwartz: 2006, 2009, 2013
Nobody has ever won 3 straight NFBC Main Event league titles, but four owners have a shot at that next year:
Scott Jenstad: 2012, 2013
Stephen Jupinka: 2012, 2013
Greg Headrick: 2012, 2013
John Pausma: 2012, 2013
That's a pretty star-studded group right there. Congrats to all of you great champions.

One look at that list and the difference between football and baseball is strikingly clear.

We had a total of 19 NFBC XII leagues in 2012 with a total of 228 competing for the $50,000 grand prize. Bill Strickler of Holliday, Florida (home of Gator Boys, I assume

) walked away with the title and the top prize.
We had some interesting results this year and plenty of very, very tight races. Eric Heberlig was the only two-time league champ in this event as he finished 2nd overall here and he won the Rotowire Fantasy Baseball Online Championship title. Here's a look at the list of winners:

It's interesting to note that 4 owners won league titles in both the NFBC Main Event and the NFBC XII:
Joe Berg
Ken Norred
Rick Thomas
David DiDonato
It's also interesting to note that Ken Norred won league titles in THREE different formats, something nobody else has done. He won two Main Event league titles and won the overall championship, he won an NFBC Auction title and finished 2nd overall and he won an NFBC XII title and finished 7th overall.
It's also interesting to note that in our two years of the NFBC XII, only 5 owners have won league titles each year. Joe Berg has the most NFBC XII league titles with 3, while four others have 2:
Joe Berg: 2012, 2012, 2013
Rick Thomas: 2012, 2013
Lindy Hinkelman: 2012, 2013
Steve Fiore: 2012, 2013
Bill Strickler: 2012, 2013

Congrats to the two Chicago Winners, Dave and Paul.
With Chicago down to just two leagues the past couple of seasons and a very solid core group of 26 or so owners battling each other year after year in the same two leagues, winning a league title in Chicago is a hard earned accomplishment. To me it is no surprise that for the third straight season only One Chicago team has been able to crack the Top 20 in the Overall.
Congrats!!

I may break Steve's balls often but all I can say is that six titles is incredible, especially when you take into account the level of competition. Hands down, the man to beat every year!

Might want to rerun your numbers on this one...unless ties don't count.

Let's get it on this thread as well so that we can find this in the future:
We had 29 NFBC Main Event leagues this year for a total of 435 teams. However, 3 of the leagues ended in ties, so we actually have 32 teams that are considered league champs. The tag team of Dan Semsel and Ken Norred won the $100,000 grand prize by winning Las Vegas League 7 from the 11th spot.
Below is a complete list of where our league champs drafted from and a compilation of those draft spots:
NFBC Main Event Champions & Where They Drafted From:
No. 1 - 2 teams
No. 2 - 3 teams
No. 3 - 3 teams
No. 4 - 1 team

Nos. 1-3 - 8 champions
Nos. 4-6 - 6 champions
Nos. 7-9 - 7 champions
Nos. 10-12 - 8 champions
Nos. 13-15 - 3 champions
Pretty solid distribution of league champions with the exception of draft spots 14 and 15, which didn't produce a single league champ. Very interesting.
Here's a look at each league champion and where they drafted from:
Chicago 1 - Paul Weber - 13th spot
Chicago 2 - David Geisinger - 4th spot
Las Vegas 1 March 23 - Roger Martin - 2nd spot

Let's post this data here as well:
And where did the NFBC XII League Champions draft from? Here's the results:
NFBC XII League Champions And Where They Drafted From:
No. 1 - 3 teams
No. 2 - 3 teams
No. 3 - 1 team
No. 4 - 1 team
No. 5 - 1 team
No. 6 - 2 teams
No. 7 - 1 team
No. 8 - 2 teams
No. 9 - 0 teams
No. 10 - 1 team
No. 11 - 2 teams
No. 12 - 2 teams
Nos. 1-3 - 7 champions
Nos. 4-6 - 4 champions
Nos. 7-9 - 3 champions
Nos. 10-12 - 5 champions
There is much more balance when you look at where the 12-team league champs came from. 11 of 12 spots are represented, with only No. 9 not producing a league champion. Pretty interesting.
Here's a look at each individual league champ:
