Live Scoring Suggestions For 2014

During my time in Chicago this week with the programmers, we met about future upgrades to the site and prioritized our To-Do List for 2014. I think we made some nice enhancements this year and Live Overall Standings couldn't have gone any smoother for a debut product.
But we have some future upgrades that we're working on now and you'll see them throughout the off-season.
Still, the one area where folks love to provide suggestions is Live Scoring and if folks can provide easy suggestions without the malice we'll prioritize any potential changes here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what is needed here is:
1. Faster Live Scoring data
2. Under Stat Line, you want the 5 basic hitting categories, 5 basic pitching categories; that's it.
3. You want the hitting totals under the last hitter in your starting lineup; pitching totals under your last starting pitcher, so that you can see your daily totals quickly and easily. Right now we have them all in one line, hitting and pitching combined.
Am I missing anything else? I know, FASTER. We are looking at how this data is being pulled from our data base to get it live as soon as possible. CLEANER. That's what I'm hearing. Am I missing anything else to make this better than ever?? Please let me know, again without the malice!!
Thanks. Adding the pulldown that allows you to see Live Scoring for all your leagues without having to go back to your team page every time was a major upgrade as well last year. Now let's get this page EXACTLY the way you want so that you can enjoy Live Scoring as much as you enjoy the Live Drafts. Thanks for any suggestions here.

Greg,
I think the number one issue people have is that the data on the live scoring is only carried out to some finite number of decimal places so that how many points each team has is not accurate (at least I think that is the reason). This was especially an issue at the end of the season where people had to wait until the overnight update on Sunday and Monday to see if they were winning.
I very rarely use the live scoring but those are the few days where it is really important. This year I purposely avoided it at the end--when I would have very much liked to use it--because I didn't want to get excited over incorrect information.

It does need to look cleaner, but besides the five categories, we still need to see a hitter's at bats and hits and a pitchers Innings. A .000 in the batting avg or ERA or WHIP would be rendered meaningless without knowing those.
I don't know whether it's do-able or not, but green or red arrows for how much we've moved up or down in each category in the Live Standings would be fun and interesting to look at....

Agreed, we dont need useless stuff like HBP, errors, K's(for hitters). Please keep hits and at bats for hitters. Then if possible hits, walks, earned runs and IP for pitchers. That way we can figure out scenerios for the pitching categories.
Not a live scoring issue but is there anyway to add weekly YTD standings for individual leagues as well as the overall standings? Would be very usesful and fun to see how your team is gaining or losing ground.

I don't know if this even possible. I've never seen it on another site, but always thought it would be cool....
Is there anyway we can time/date standings?
In other words, I am looking at the standings on the 4th of July. My team has worked its way from 13 to 3rd since April.
I'd like to punch in any date before July 4 to see what the standings looked like on that day, so that I could follow my teams progression.
We have the weekly standings as an option, but I'd like to see a 'up till then' type of re-creation.
Is that possible?
This would be on our home page 'Standings' click, of course. Nothing to do with live scoring....

Yes, we'd still keep AB and Hits to go with BA, R, HR, RBI, SB. We'd keep IP, too. I should have said that in advance, but those stats would be kept.
Okay, I think we're on the same page for this.

Anything is possible, but we definitely need to prioritize things that are more important than others. Our list this week was 30+ items we want to get done, some that don't even concern you because they are for Tom and I on the administration side. We have a few major projects lined up for this off-season, so something like this will have to be added in future years. Sorry.
Okay, any other thoughts on Live Scoring let me know. Thanks all.

The live scoring has a quirk where it will load hitting but not pitching then it will load pitching and things will randomly appear disappear. Might not be fixable but it gave me a couple heart attacks as the season was winding down. I'd be up, then down...
Any chance of getting live scoring standings(at least for leagues ) added to the app?

Do you get the daily stats/standings email? You can use those to keep track of this.

I do. I'll try and remember that for next year.
It'd be cooler to see the progression through 10 categories, but that'll do till higher priorities are done.
Thank you.

This is a big one and is difficult to articulate. After the stats have loaded, pitching or hitting stats zero out after a period of time. You can refresh or wait for them to re-appear in time. I could not decipher a consistent pattern of when this happened, but it happened every single day. If you've switched over to the league standings (within live scoring) the zero'd out stats are not figured in and you're left wondering what happened, until you realize that the stats had zero'd out. This can be very frustrating and is easily the number one fix for me.
The aligning of the 10 statistical categories along with (if there is room) AB, H and IP are the only two (must have) things on my wish list this season.
Thanks

And earned runs.

Okay, let's fix this then. I have no idea why these stats would zero out, but I'll forward and get it fixed. We want Live Scoring to be the best it can be and as fast as can be, so we're zeroing in on this now to get it right.
Thanks for the feedback. Seems like we have two doable fixes. We can add AB, H, IP and ER to the five Rotisserie categories.

I forwarded your top problem to IT as well. As for the app, I know there will be some refinements and additions before the season. I don't know about the live standings, but I'll update all improvements before the start of the season.
We appreciate all of the responses we got the NFBC App Survey. There was a good number of you who said you used the app regularly and even daily for Live Scoring. It was good to see some of you use it for Set Lineup and other purposes and now we'll see if we can take this app a step further. Stay tuned.

Yes, I've noticed this too. I thought it might be that the stat feed was doing a periodic update and the "zeroing out" is just the process of the stat feed re-engaging.
