Sunday FAAB Deadline To Be Moved To 10 PM ET

The NFBC asked for your input on this matter and you gave us what we needed.
Thanks to everyone who responded to our NFBC Survey last week about changing the FAAB deadline on Sundays. We had over 430 responses to our survey and there was an overwhelming choice here:
64% said they wanted the 10 pm ET Sunday FAAB deadline
36% said they wanted the 8 pm ET Sunday FAAB deadline
We will be making this change on the Rules pages of all NFBC contests and will go with a later Sunday FAAB deadline. We think this will help owners on Sundays and along with a total redesign of our FAAB pages will be a contributing factor in saving you folks plenty of time each Sunday during the season. Thanks again all.

Greg, personally I think this is great news and will make our Sundays more "family friendly" moving forward.
One additional change I think would further help in this regard, can we eliminate the 1/2 hour delay between the FAAB deadline and the posting of FAAB bids?
If I recall that was put into effect during the Fanball year after that infamous 1st week FAAB debacle to assure that any errors were caught before they went out to the customers. However, I think now that Fanball is long out of the picture and that FAAB weekend has faded from our memories, the need for that 1/2 hour delay has become obsolete.
Especially with the deadline being moved back 2 hours, that extra 1/2 hour given back to provide additional time at the end of the night to set lineups, etc. would come in handy.
Just a thought and thanks.

I will gladly explain this. We have built in a 15-minute buffer from our deadline until posting the FAAB results as a safety net in case anything comes up. We haven't needed the safety net that I can remember, but we've put that time in there just in case before announcing all FAAB pickups. We can talk this through internally and see what is best needed there -- maybe it's just 10 minutes or 5 minutes -- but I agree a buffer is needed in case something comes up like we saw in the NFFC in Week 1. Once we determine that length of time we can let everyone know when they can expect to see all FAAB picks and then everyone can plan accordingly. I'm sure nobody knew about this buffer before and just felt we had an old system in place cranking out one FAAB bid at a time. That's not the case at all. It takes a matter of seconds to process all of these FAAB bids. We just don't release the results right away so that we can double-check everything and be safe.
We'll look at this and see if we can release the results each Sunday a little earlier, while still being careful. I hope that helps.
