Chapter 1 and 2. Nice Intro in 1 brief history and break down on the games in 2.

Chapter 3. Get as much value as you can. Add a decimal point to your values.

Chapter 4. Additional Strategy for Auctions. Nominate your targeted player.

Chapter 5. Projecting player stats. Nothing new.

Chapter 6. Value formulas. This made my eyes watered as I fell asleep. But there is good and bad in this chapter. The good. If your using a value system you should know the value splits being used. The bad. That the SMG formula is the best choice. Well for Larry as he states. ( I have problems with this as well as player stats I’ll address later).

Chapter 7. AL/NL Auctions. Surprise! I agree with some of this. Actually I can say that for most chapters. Go for Value.
The problem is what is value? Larry likes to break down his values to the decimal point. This is where it gets dicey. Values are based on projections. Ron from HQ did a great article about projecting Stats a few years back. If you hit 80% of your projections you were doing good. Hitting a projection was being within 10% percent of your projection. I’m old and working off memory, so correct me if I’m wrong on the numbers. So if you have one player at 12.6 dollars and another at 12.3 dollars you’d pick the player at 12.6 dollars. The problem with this is the 12.3 player could end up 9% higher and the 12.6 player could end up 9% lower. How much would this change the dollar value? Don’t ask me! Where’s Todd Zola when you need him! Anyway it Changes the decimal point. Now what if it’s one of the 20 percent outside of the 10%. Forget Decimal points. We’re talking dollar changes. Could be good! Or could be Bad, Bad, Bad! The point is you can’t handicap yourself over less than a buck. OK off the soap box. Still love ya Larry!

Chapter 8. Mix Auctions I’ll be honest. I don’t have a clue on this one. Read it yourself. Buy the Book! There you go Larry! Gotta help a fellow NFBC’er out!

Chapter 9. Snake drafts! Finally! Remember this for years to come. I actually learned something here.
I’m not easy to teach but I learned that it’s not scarcity of position it’s a draft curve. I also I learned picking first is Best. Well unless you have a good ADP that’s says it’s not. Get a balance team. OK
I heard that. Wait the pitching curve doesn’t work for pitchers! Better buy the book. I can’t print all these charts out.

Chapter 10. Salary-Cap games. Ask someone with a passing knowledge like, I don’t know maybe
Lindy Hinkelman.

Chapter 11. In season Management. If your in a mix league the trade deadline isn’t much as a concern as a single al/nl league.
To answer the question should I buy the book? Heck yeah! Shawn Childs is mentioned along with Todd Zola. Both long time NFBC’ers. I’m worried about Larry. He’s only won 9 titles. Iffy leagues like LABR and Touts. Don’t pay nothing! Help the poor kid out and buy the book! :D

Wow, Walla Walla....thanks for the help, buddy. Glad you still love me.

The book is now in book stores and the Kindle is available. Nook and iTunes should be any day now.

If anyone wants to see more reviews, below are some links. Mike Gianella of Baseball Prospectus and Shandler of BBHQ require a subscription to read the whole thing. The others are free.

Also, I'll be holding a book signing Friday night, midnight - 3:00 AM at Walla Walla's house. Hope to see everyone there.

That's why we're having this at midnight. The fire will be visible for miles and miles.

I'm bringing marshmallows, and Greg and Tom said they'll teach us all how to make smores. It's gonna be a blast.

On a side note, for anyone who got the book, or is going to get it, I just learned there's an error. On page 141, the column headers for 12 and 15-team mixed leagues are inadvertently swapped.
